I'd rather they said new stories with those characters than rehash old stories that are already readily available, even via audio. I don't want a rewrite of the past, thank you very much.
If the animated versions aren't doing that well, I bet a filmed version would do even worse. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the idea, but seriously doubt the audience or money is there.
I hear what you're saying... I guess I just like the idea of seeing the old stories re-imagined since most of us have never seen them before... But I would like new stories too...
If they did a 2nd Doctor adventure, whether a redo or brand new, would all his villains still be made out of tinfoil? It would certainly keep the budget down.
I wonder how the cost of a filmed story using the effects of those days compares to animation. Guessing the animation is still substantially less.
A quarter of a year and no posts. Huh. Anyway. Someone spotted something relating to a '60s story. Vague enough? Twitter link
Maybe the TARDIS is mid-regeneration. We know Chibnal's bringing in a new design next series. Who knows how it's supposed to change. Or it could just be a continuity error.
I'd always figured they'd close automatically at some point anyway. Hell, the doors did exactly that the very first time the gang landed amongst the cavemen. Mark
New trailer posted today: interesting new shots The villains are revealed, new non-WWI locations, and the time vortex looks different on purpose. One wonders if that really is a clip of the regeneration. If so, the location disappoints a little, TBH, but why break with tradition now? Mark
When Professor Yana regenerated into the Master, the latter dude woke up in a prone position. Similarly, the Eighth Doctor regenerated standing up but crumpled to the ground in the process, which is arguably the second closest after the General collapsing first. Mark
