Wally is still a work in progress.

My favorite character, but I'm out of touch with comics. Whats going on with Wally these days? I read the first couple rebirth comics on line when he first returned. It was awesome. Unfortunately, I don't have time or money to keep up with the actual comics lines these days.... I gave up after Flashpoint, and never really went back, although I did get every part of Convergence when it happened.

He's trying to connect with Linda, without being too pushy. Spending bro-time with Dick. Recently had an awkward meeting with his namesake cousin, Kid Flash.

Well, Superman continues its slide into being the worst Rebirth title. Pretty much two atrocious story arcs in a row.
Both destroyed the good about Superman's post-Convergence return (the previous bad arc killing the pre-New 52 Superman and Lois, this one killing the place where the real Superman and Lois were living before the New 52 versions basically got the pre-New 52 Superman/Lois's kid and moved to Metropolis). Both also completely misused Superman villains, to the point where I'm convinced the writer had never even heard of Mxy and Manchester Black before he did a quick google search of superman villains he could stick in his comic.

The writer seems to have gotten Black even worse then Mxy, since I actually own and have read Action Comics #775 and I don't remember Manchester Black having the ability to turn people into black goo powered zombies. The DC wiki agrees that he can't actually do that, so I guess the writer just pulled that ability directly out of his thin air.

I pretty much just skimmed this issue because I'm not going to remember any of it by next week much less by next issue anyway, but its probably the third worst issue of Superman not just since rebirth, but of all the superman issues that I've read (the worst single issue being the one where John Byrne turned Superman into a murderer, and the second being when they
used Mxy to kill off the real Superman and Lois
    in the last arc).

I'll skim the next issue of this arc (which is hopefully the last) but the next arc will be the last chance for Superman. If its not an improvement, I'll just stick with Action Comics and Trinity for Superman stories, both of which are comics with actual decent writers, and drop the main Superman book.

Superman was doing so well since he came back with his family during Convergence, but even during DC's pretty successful Rebirth there has to be a few things they screw up, I guess.

Damn, are you saying that the
post crisis Superman and Lois from the Convergence and Lois and Clark minis are completely lost into whatever new mutation combination they did? I assumed they would remain themselves characterization wise, but with some new memories to draw on.

OP is being overdramatic. They are mostly the post-Crisis version. There is nothing left of the Nu52 versions after they merged.

DC and Wonder Woman are going to be crossing over starting in September. The 6 issue miniseries will be written by Gail Simone, and feature art by Aaron Lopresti, colors by Wendy Broome, and inks by Matt Ryan.
I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed she's crossing over with Conan instead of Red Sonja. I think seeing two of comicdom's biggest badass warrior women working together would be even more fun, and the fact that Simone has written both WW and RS would be another big plus.

Simone & Lopresti pretty much already did this with the Claw the Unconquered story back when they were doing Wonder Woman.

Gail Simone said on her twitter that she thought that Conan and Wonder Woman would be more fun, and that (basically) Wonder Woman and red sonja shouldn't be the expected crossover just because they're both female warriors. Apparently Simone was the one who picked Conan over Red Sonja, and I she's also written Conan before (in a crossover mini with RS that I didn't read), so while I'm also disappointed that its not RS and WW in the end its better that Simone goes with the crossover she wants to write.

I loathe Conan as a character, but I also hate every version of Red Sonja except the one written by Gail Simone (which I enjoy a lot), so I'll give the mini a chance and see if Simone can make me like a version of a barbarian character I've always found to be pretty terrible.

Well, if it's her choice then I'll trust that she knows what she's doing.

Yeah, I'd been questioning why Conan instead of Red Sonja as well, but Simone was the person who revealed the crossover through her twitter (I follow her account), and she posted several tweets talking about the crossover and making it clear that she wanted to go with Conan over Red Sonja, so I'm sure it will work out.

A co-worker lent me copies of Batman and Batman Beyond to read and, while there are moments in Batman I enjoyed, I'm not overwhelmed by it. I still have her copies of "The War of Jokes and Riddles" to read through, but she didn't seem to keen on those. Batman Beyond seemed quite a mess to me, there just seems to be so much going on and, unlike what I understand the thrust of the Rebirth titles to be, it seems there is an awful lot of New 52 continuity that the book is drowning in.

She also lent me the first two TPBs of Detective Comics and told me she enjoyed those better.

I think I'm going to pick up the Superman Rebirth trades when I get a chance. I just used a $5 Google Play discount to read Superman: Lois and Clark in anticipation of when I get the TPBs.

I also just finished collecting the Geoff Johns run of Green Lantern New 52. GL has long been my favorite character (especially Hal), as my avatar can attest to. Should I continue the New 52 run of Green Lantern or just jump from Johns' last arc to Rebirth (Green Lanterns and Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps)?

The rest of the series had its ups and downs, and it as well as Green Lantern Corps ties directly in to the Rebirth comics. Oh, as does the Sinestro series. Red Lanterns and Kyle's book seems to be almost entirely forgotten.

Any thoughts on what we'd like to see Brian Michael Bendis work on at DC?

When the announcement hit, that he'd gone exclusive with DC, my initial thoughts were that he'd be a great fit on a Lex Luthor book (shades of Iron Man), an Outsiders books (shades of one of his team books, like New Avengers), or Blue Beetle (something like Ultimate Spider-Man).

But then I started thinking about things like Captain Marvel or the Justice Legion Alpha from DC One Million or the Superman Squad from All-Star Superman and Chris Roberson's pre-Flashpoint run on Superman. Or Teen Titans, which has been pretty aimless. (I have the feeling that DC feels like they have to publish a Teen Titans book, even if they have no idea of what to do with it.)

I am sure Bendis could do wonders with the Legion of Substitute Heroes or Brother Power and maybe even Scalphunter. All in need of an update.

He could be on Outsiders, but I think that we'll see him on a new Justice Society or Legion of Super-Heroes title.

Well, someone needs to bring back the Legion. If he can do it, I’m all for it.

There are rumors that DC has offered Jonathan Hickman the Legion.
