I actually had a dream last night about this! In 43 years, I've never had a Trek dream (that I remember), but I thought my subconscious handled it pretty well, so bear with me.....
The Disco was in some sort of firefight (probably with Klingons), and the forward starboard section of the bridge hull had been blasted open, but a forcefield was in place. They were in trouble, but through that rip in the hull in the far-off distance you could see an incoming warp streak, that resolves into the very familiar front profile of a Constitution class. It was still at an extreme distance, so you could only just barely make it out. The Enterprise (probably Pike) comes over audio "This is the USS Enterprise, blah blah blah.......", and the Klingons run off without the E having to fire a shot. Lorca says "Thanks for the assist, Enterprise", and you can see again far off through the rip the Enterprise turning and heading off at warp.
I thought this works pretty well, since you can only just barely make out the shape of the Enterprise, and any details are lost, so no worries about matching or updating the ship too much. We also don't see Pike or the Enterprise bridge since it was just audio communication. Plus, without the E firing, they don't have to worry about changing or matching TOS effects. If they actually did it like this, I would be pretty satisfied.
I'm going to make what some here will call another blasphemous suggestion: if a Constitution-class starship appears at any point in DSC's run, it need not be...and probably won't be...the Enterprise.
I don't recall ever seeing a picture of the original Enterprise in TMP. I do recall seeing a graphic of the Enterprise included in Kirk's mission logs from "The Naked Time" that depicted the TMP version of the ship, however. TNG-R switched it back to the TOS version, so YMMV, but I'm far more inclined to treat it as a retcon. Beyond that, the only other time we see the TOS version of the ship (in a situation where it isn't clearly an error) is in 'Trials and Tribblations" where doing so is both unavoidable and also deliberate attempt at nostalgia porn. Future series doing 23rd century time travel episodes probably won't be able to get away with this kind of thing. But ST:TMP made it painfully clear that the old ship had existed, and that she had looked exactly like she did in TOS: they showed a picture of her.

Only one of those that looks good is the final one. Everything else looks cheap and not fit for modern TV.
If they do decide to update it. Hopefully the bridge would look like this. Courtesy of Kelvington.

No I didn't make it, It was done by fellow here https://vimeo.com/kevingeorgeThis is an interesting melding. Did you put it together yourself?
I'm kinda hoping the uniforms get changed next season to something closer to the TOS uniforms.
Its probably going to be the same overall shape as the original TOS Enterprise with the same detailing, textures and visual update as we saw on the Europa.I'm pretty sure I've already said this, but in another similar thread:
Merchandising. Everyone who wants the classic Enterprise has a model or three. The 2009 Enterprise was the best seller of that movie's toy range by far.
That is why the Enterprise will look different on Discovery. So they can sell models, plaster it on calendars and art books and whatever else.
