Ok, can Oliver go 5 seconds without giving up being Green Arrow? I'm beyond sick of it. Why don't the writers just move on? Do they think having Oliver do this "Will he or won't he" bullshit over and over and over is compelling? It wasn't compelling the first time he did it. At the 3,456th time its infuriating. So, good bye Arrow. I'll watch your crossover episode, but once again you're getting dropped. That's Arrow and LoT gone, with Supergirl on the edge. I hope Black Lightning is good, I'd like another CWDC show besides The Flash to really like.

Agreed, the "I've given up as teh GA" bit is getting old, overused and needs to knock it off. OLIVER QUEEN IS THE GREEN ARROW, end of story, period- unless set in the future or an alternate universe. That islike saying Clark Kent/Kal El is not Superman, or Bruce Wayne is not the Batman (again, except for the alternate timeline/universe where his father was Batman).

But Kirk, really, LoT went before Supergirl for you? I think LoT is still fun, even if it gets stupid sometimes; Supergirl we only continue to watch with a sliver of hope that it'll get good again, like season 1; and because my kid loves to watch it, yet still tunes out and stops paying attention too.

I like the story idea of Diggle taking over as Green Arrow, and I'm glad it's more than a one-week thing (and they even did a new version of the narration for it!), but he's just too burly to look good in that suit and hood. Maybe a new costume design would help. Also, his voice is so deep that the modulator seems redundant.

I think it's kinda cool that the current iteration of the field team has no white men on it.

Also cool: The main title card now includes logos for all the team members. There's a bird emblem for Black Canary, Wild Dog's mascot logo, a T for Mr. Terrific, a stylized eye for Overwatch, a helmet for Spartan, and finally the arrowhead for Green Arrow. Although the Spartan logo was absent this week. That makes two Arrowverse shows, Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow, that use "roll call of logos" opening title cards. (As it happens, Marvel's Inhumans does the same thing.) I guess Team Flash doesn't have enough actual superheroes on it to do that kind of opening -- just Flash and (formerly) Kid Flash, who use the same logo, and Vibe, who doesn't seem to have a logo. And on Supergirl, Martian Manhunter isn't usually active in the field, and Guardian doesn't really work with the team regularly. And I don't think either one of them has a logo.

Yeah, Dig doesn't need the voice modulator at all. He does fill out the suit in a way that seems off as well. GA is usually muscularly strong, but lean. Dig is bulky muscle. I don't see him doing any of the parkour style stunts like OQ does.

Kid Flash and The Flash have slightly different logos, the number of zigs and zags in their lightning bolts is different, and I think Kid Flash's is red not gold/yellow.

Dinah should definitely be in charge of this group, I don't care she's the newest kid on the block, she's the most sensible one there.

The fight scene in and around the car was great.

So they're bringing Olicity back, okay, just for pete's sake stick with it this time, their Season 4 drama was the weakest and most annoying part of the show.

Calling a referendum on a divisive issue, eh? No chance that will go badly...

After the excellence of Season 5, Season 6 feels a little too... basic. I hope things ramp up soon because things have just been ok for the most part but this series is capable of being so much more. I did really like the Felicity/William story though, as this feels like a more natural way to get Felicity and Oliver back together. Also I was thinking we really haven't seen much of Felicity outside the Arrow cave so hopefully this and the start up company is a chance to let her be like she was in Season 1 or 2.

I'm also hoping we meet the main villian soon as well. I think they introduced Prometheus around Episode 3 last year so it's time to really get this season in motion. Also, I do kind of miss the flashbacks. They were part in parcel of this show that to not have them there feels like something is missing. I heard they were going to do flashbacks of other characters backstories this season. Wouldn't mind seeing one for Dinah or Curtis.

I think Black Siren is going to be a pretty major villain this season, and there was a flashback in the premiere that showed some anonymous figure landing on Lian Yu in a helicopter and taking her hand after she'd been left for dead. So there's someone she's working with/for that we haven't met yet.

Ok. Would love to keep some of that momentum going. I like what the Flash is doing by showing a little bit of the Thinker each week. You know he's the main villain, but right now he's scheming and planning and you can still do episodic shows with that in the background. Arrow should be doing something similar.

Since Felicity and Curtis are doing their startup thing, I think it's only a matter of time before Helix comes into play on the villain front as well.

Could Dig be juicing with mirakuru, or some derivative of it? It's not like people should mind all THAT much if it were some regular steroid or medicine. I mean, look at them under NORMAL circumstances.

Another Oracle in-joke, it's a crossed-out name on Felicity's list of possible startup names. But that makes either a lot of or very little sense, since Oracle is an existing software database platform that is pretty well universally recognized by anyone in IT. On OUR Earth, at least. :P

This one was a whiff.

We found out that Black Siren works for Helix and Michael Emerson was as good as ever, but the rest of the episode was drowned in technobabble that didn't make any sense and, more unforgivably, wasn't even fun or engaging. It also wasn't helped by the fact that they already did the "kill the internet" thing before.

The blinky server farm was a cool place to stage a fight though.

I appreciate that they tried to do a more Felicity centered episode, but next time they should make it more IT Crowd, less Mission: Impossible.

(Unintentional irony of the week: Felicity and mini-Felicity talk about naming their startup Helix to redeem the name from an evil organization, but the producers are still unwilling to to name Isis on Legends...)

I found this episode kind of boring. I guess when you have Felicity and Elena talking to each other really really fast to the point where they are spouting gibberish, that's not my idea of a good episode. Also, Emerson's character reminded me of Dr. Noah (Avery Brooks) from Our Man Bashir. You have that deep almost psychotic voice that's a little intimidating.

I really hope this isn't a season of Oliver on the sidelines because of his son. I fell in love with this show last year because it felt more of a thriller drama than actual superhero show and Stephen Amell is a strong suave type in this series, kind of like Pierce Brosnan's Bond. I don't watch this show to see Diggle (And I like Diggle) as the Green Arrow. Also, you have your Felicity and Oliver scenes, and I still am thankful I wasn't around when Olicity was at it's height. I actually find those kissing scenes almost bringing this episode to a screeching halt.

He's more like an evil doppelganger of Harold Finch from Person of Interest. Bringing in Emerson as the world's most brilliant and secretive hacker is a definite case of typecasting. He even talks in a Finch-like manner -- very polite and formal, calling people by title and surname. I'm torn. On the one hand, I don't like typecasting because I prefer to see actors get to demonstrate their range, but on the other hand, Finch is my favorite Emerson character and I'm glad to see him playing someone in a similar vein.

I've always liked Olicity; the reason the characters went that way (instead of Oliver and Laurel ending up together as in the comics) is probably because the actors have such terrific chemistry. But part of me would rather see Felicity making out with Elena. They have their own kind of chemistry.

Are they officially dating again, or implied dating, or not actually, dating, but emotionally intimate enough to be considered a couple in that they're both not seeing anyone else, and seeing anyone else would be a betrayal of an implicit trust? What's the Olicity 411, this former Arrow viewer wants to know?!

Yup, and pretty seriously too. Enough to make me wonder if the big crossover at the end of the month, where all the heroes get together for Barry and Iris's wedding and get attacked by villains in classic superhero-wedding tradition, will end up being a double wedding. (I wouldn't mind a triple, actually -- Barry/Iris, Ollie/Felicity, and Alex/Maggie.)

Can we take a poll?? I have always hated Olicity. i think others have expressed the same.

Emily Beckett Richards has great chemistry with everyone. When they first introduced Barry Allen, i was hoping that it turned out that Felecity was her middle name, and thought it was "cooler" than her real first name -- Iris. She and Grant Gustin have much better chemistry and made a lot of sense. (Tangent: The first year of Iris made me wonder if they made a mistake, but thanks to Joe and better writing of Iris, it now makes more sense).

As for Arrow... well, not a lot of options... Diggle was out (married man) and Det. Lance would have been a little creepy.

Laurel Lance -- i am not sure how the auditions went, but the chemistry was simply not there, and the character overall seemed like a mess. Sara Lance made much more sense. Those two had chemistry. And i was hoping they would kill off Laurel and have Sara take over her identity, but live a quieter life (i.e. the florist occupation).

They don't have to have a romance...i think DIggle and Dinah's relationship has been platonic yet very strong. I appreciate that.

I've caught up on Arrow. Some random thoughts:
-Since Diggle is Green Arrow now I wish the show would open with a voice narration from him. That would be a neat way to sell the idea that he is really Green Arrow, even though his tenure will likely be short.
-Not feeling that Diggle Arrow seems way in over his head in ways that the character hasn't been portrayed previously. Perhaps it could be the result of his injury affecting him emotionally, as well as residual guilt over Andy's death, but I don't think either have been specifically stated. Somewhere someone online-You Tube I think-made a comment that Diggle keeping his nerve damage a secret from most of the group doesn't make sense since Curtis developed tech that helped Felicity walk again. I'm sure he could do something similar for Diggle. But the show seems to need a reason to create unnecessary drama for Diggle and a reason to show him in a weaker position.
-I do like the Diggle/Dinah chemistry and wish the show could develop that further, but the marriage to the mostly no-show Lyla is a block on that.
-It was really cool seeing Onyx Adams, but I wish they had mentioned her ties to the League of Assassins. I also wish she had gotten away. I think it would be neat for Diggle Arrow to have his own set of villains. I find it odd that they let Diggle beat Adams, who has been a member of the League since the 1700s and should easily have beaten everyone in Team Arrow, including Oliver, yet Diggle has to work at beating random bad guys.
-I'm enjoying Black Siren. She is a nice mix of evil and sexy and Katie Cassidy seems more comfortable in the role than she did as Black Canary.
-Not a fan of Olicity, but I don't hate it as much this time as I did in the past. I did find Felicity annoying at times in this week's episode. When she snapped at Diggle for no reason, etc.
-It looks to me like Caden (?) James is Felicity's personal nemesis and I wonder if she will survive the season. I can't see Arrow just letting Oliver ride off into the sunset with her again.
-I think Wild Dog's new suit looks nice, but I prefer the older one. The older one is from the comics and was more distinctive. His new one while looking nice also looks more generic. I'm iffy on Wild Dog's challenging Diggle's leadership. On some level I see they need some interpersonal conflict on the team, but perhaps the nature of that conflict or the challenging could be different.
-I'm enjoying that there are no flashbacks, however with a new Arrow, this could be an opportunity to do Diggle flashbacks.
-I like the FBI agent, however I wish they had used a DC organization like Checkmate or SHADE.

Well, it's still Oliver's show. I kinda like the way the current narration adjusts the usual formula to set up John's tenure.

That was implicitly addressed at the end of this week's episode. Curtis was able to create the chip with the resources/money of Palmertech, but now they don't have that anymore, and the board discouraged further development. I suspect that the conversation between Alena and Felicity about using the start-up to recreate the chip will end up leading to a treatment for Diggle.

The show absolutely can develop their chemistry further, because there are other kinds of relationship besides romance. They're fellow soldiers and friends. They have shared experience and mindsets that create a bond different from that of the other team members. That's the thing that makes their relationship distinctive and interesting. Putting them in a contrived romance just because one of them is male and the other is female would be generic and cliched and would get in the way of what's worthwhile about them as a duo.

It's Cayden James. And I can't imagine the producers ever wanting to get rid of Emily Bett Rickards as long as she's willing to stay on the show.

But with a new Green Arrow, they should use a new approach, not just copy what was done with the old one.

Diggle doing the narration can be a new approach. Further, the flashbacks can show us more of Diggle’s past and how that impacts how he approaches being Arrow. While I agree that Oliver is still the star of the show, the show is called Arrow, and not Oliver, so I don’t see why the person who is Green Arrow can’t provide the introduction.

I also wouldn’t mind if Diggle had a new costume to go along with the crossbow to establish him as different even further. And it could make for a cool action figure.

Regarding Diggle’s injury I was talking about him keeping it secret from the group. It didn’t make sense in a world where Curtis created technology to solve Felicity’s paralysis. Diggle knows all about that so why wouldn’t he see if Curtis could help him? There's no super science that ARGUS would have at its disposal to help Diggle? There’s also magic in this world as well. It could’ve been nice to maybe have Team Arrow call upon Fortuna or Constantine. But instead of using some of the unique things about the Arrowverse they instead have Diggle going into an alleyway to literally buy drugs. One of the more prominent black characters/heroes in the Arrowverse takes on the stereotypical trappings of an addict.

I think that Diggle and Dinah do have romantic chemistry. Granted that there are all kinds of relationships, but the chemistry between Oliver and Felicity was explored on the romantic plane. It’s unfortunate that we won’t see Diggle in a romantic relationship played onscreen and not mostly off camera. Dinah and Diggle is no more contrived than Oliver and Felicity were, a relationship which I think you are on board with.

I don’t think Felicity is going anywhere, anytime soon, unless the actress does want to leave the show. Felicity and Olicity have their fans and Felicity is an integral part of the show. That being said, if James is being set up as this formidable villain, each season has resulted in a major death to someone close to Oliver. Season 1: Tommy; Season 2: Moira; Season 3: Sara and Oliver himself; Season 4: Laurel; Season 5: William’s mother and perhaps some others. If James is a personal villain of Felicity more than Oliver’s or Diggle’s and if she feels guilty about unleashing him on the world-which she does-I could see her making the sacrifice or being sacrificed to right the scales. The show is getting long in the tooth and Felicity’s death would be a major shakeup, though that would likely divide the fanbase and lead to the show’s faster demise.
