A disco song about "disco". What could be better? :ack:

But btw, I didn' t always hate disco. I liked it in the beginning. It wasn't until I heard a disco version of Ethel Merman singing "Everything's Coming Up Roses", that I realized that the genre had turned into one the signs of the apocalypse.

The after show is well worth viewing, you gain a litle more insight to this new serie and the different characters after hearing some thoughts from both the writers and the actors.
I think the host does a good job and its fun to experience the dynamic between the guests. I will certainly keep waching.

Just wanted to note that they actually called the shuttle “Disco 1” in “Context is for Kings”.

They were most likely saying DSC-oh-1

'Oh' being the '0'.

The Netflix subtitles did say 'Disco 1', while the Canadian (and CBS according to M-A) subtitles said 'Distal 1'

I couldn't take more than 20 minutes of watching that buffoon. If they get a different host, I'll give it another shot.

It's the same guy who does the nerdist podcast isn't it?

The Nerdist is great, some people just need a little more practice on television.

I am not enamored of the format or the host, but I watch for the guests. Jason Isaacs showed up the other time, and Anthony Rapp is going to be on this Sunday.

Gretchen Berg used the phrase "Father Figure" multiple times in this episode of "After Trek". Now, admittedly, it's a... logical... phrase to use regarding the relationship between Burnham and Sarek, but it also stood out to me given my theory about the characters Georgiou and Michael being named in honor of George Michael's passing.

I have no idea about any of that, but it's increasingly looking to me like the reason they gave the character such an unusual first name (for a woman) was so that everyone would recognize her when they met her. Twice now, someone she's been introduced to has heard that her name was Michael and immediately thought of "Michael Burnham, the mutineer." So she can't hide from it.

Matt Mira has actually gotten a lot better since the first episode. He still has a cheesy sense of humour but he's nowhere near as hyper and over the top as he was in the first couple of shows.

^ Maybe that's where Lorca's Tribble disappeared to! :D

I've also noticed Mira has toned it down a bit, though I still shake my head when he laughs at his own "funny" remarks.
