Could Enterprise be revived?

Now, I'm aware that the chances of this are very, very slim. But if Discovery ends up a huge success and sufficiently revives widespread interest in TV Trek to motivate the airing of multiple Trek series at once (as in the 90s), could Enterprise be brought back? I'd love to see the planned story arcs for a fifth season pan out.

There's precedent - the HBO series Deadwood wasn't a big ratings draw by any means (though it was critically adored) and it was hugely expensive to air so it was cancelled at the end of the third season. Ian McShane, one of the main stars, responded to questions about the show for years by saying it was "dead". Now, more than 10 years later, a revival has been greenlit by HBO and is tentatively moving forward in the stages of pre-production. HBO also revived Entourage for a movie. Netflix saved Arrested Development years after it was cancelled. Prison Break was revived years after the show ended simply because a bunch of people were rewatching the show.

Of course, it depends on distributors having some conviction that there's a demand for Enterprise's return, as well as the availability of the core actors, to even begin to consider putting this in place. But who knows? If Discovery is big and interest in Trek is booming, then why not? Come on Netflix, you know you want to.

I seriously doubt it. Not unless there was a repeat of that proto-Kickstarter that tried to fund a fifth season back in 2006, and it actually worked this time around.

Probably not a series. I've always been keen on a kind of feature-length reunion, set years after... if not completely redoing the poor ending "These are the Voyages..." gave us. Something with the right story idea to make it relevant to where Star Trek is now, and done on the budget of two or three episodes of Discovery.

No, there's no chance, Enterprise is dead. All of your examples are bad because all of those shows were either commercial or critical successes or both, Enterprise was neither.
Unlike the other shows you listed Enterprise was also the fifth series in an ongoing franchise that has already proven that new crews work, so there's even less incentive to revive it. This isn't the 70s were only TOS existed.

If they ultimately end making anthology seasons, there could always be one set in that era, and could include guest appearances, and recurring roles from one or more of the Enterprise cast, but that's so far off that by the time it might be made, it'll have been 20+ years.

To the person who mentioned Netflix, I wish they would release some numbers. I believe all of the series are doing very well on Netflix. They've been on there for 7 years, and NF has been working (and recently succeeded) in getting the trek catalog to every country.

They could also make a miniseries that has some of the Enterprise cast. All you need is type right person to make the right pitch at the right time that has prospect of $$$. CBS is really going to need more content on their streaming service, too.

An Enterprise S5 or mini-series or film for CBS All Access would be interesting, but I'm not really sure it'll happen. Everyone's 12 years older, and the show would probably be post-TATV to make that fit, so no Trip. I don't expect them to adapt the post-ENT novels just to bring Trip back.

The most I'm expecting is a guest appearance from a Enterprise character in Discovery. Maybe T'Pol, since she a Vulcan and she'd still be alive at 170+. A holographic recording of Archer would be nice.

No. I still say a separate series made in the style of Clone Wars or Rebels and set during the Earth/Romulan War would be a cool way to go and then could bring in the Enterprise characters as occasional guest stars, with whatever actors who wanted to return voicing them or replaced by other actors.

Any series can be revived but it's all about $ and I don't think CBS would spend it on Enterprise.

I think there was a window of opportunity for that a few years ago, but it's over.

The cast is older, they have other jobs (or married into billions). There's a new show, and I think after this there will be little interest in yet another prequel. I'd like it. I love the early era (see username) but I just don't see it happening.

Unfortunately, there's never been a window of opportunity to revive any of the Trek shows after 1979 when the Phase II show decided to become a movie.

After the TNG movies, that cast was clearly done, and Nemesis' dismal performance just put a nail in the coffin of ever seeing that show return in any form.

Voyager was an unloved and unspectacular show that, without the Delta Quadrant setting, really had no point to it. Nobody was ever aching to see them again.

Enterprise, while having a small but vocal following who wanted more, just didn't boast anything that would excite any network or studio enough to bring it back. Not in 2006, and not in recent years when Netflix started reviving old shows like Arrested Development and Full House, and shows like X-Files and Twin Peaks were being revived. The reason why those shows were being rekindled was because they were either big hits in their prime like X-Files and Full House, or critical darlings like Arrested Development.

Enterprise was neither a hit with audiences or with critics. Likewise-- and I've been watching it a lot this week-- it's full of some of the least compelling characters in all of Trek, and inhabited by some of the blandest acting performances this side of a Earth 2.

Ironically, the show that probably could have stood to be revived was DS9-- an interesting ending that narratively could have made for an interesting followup a few years down the line. It was a show that was often critically praised, though never garnered solid ratings-- certainly not enough to get anyone excited about producing a sequel movie.

Apparently Trek on Netflix does very well- mainly TNG, natch, but DS9 and VOY are gaining new followers and appreciation also. If Netflix bought back Wet Hot Summer and Full House, it's not unthinkable (although admittedly, incredibly unlikely) that they could do a DS9 reunion movie. How cool would that be? Jake and Molly and Nog and New Dax (Jayden Smith) go searching for Sisko in the wormhole.

I'm not even sure I'd want Enterprise, or any of the other shows, revived. Over the last few years, there's been a major shift in television storytelling techniques and the ways that shows are presented.

Though if streaming services were around during Enterprise's run, it might have fared better.
