What established Trek character should be made a series regular in season2 of "Discovery" if needed?

This guy! :)

What if people only think Shran is dead and instead he faked his death like Elvis Presley and Andy Kauffman and Jesus have done here in the real world? Maybe Shran is running Section 31.

Jason

Thank god. Though now we'll find out Andorians live to be 300.
Maybe they do, the ambassador in The Perfect Mate was 300 years old. Long lived race in Star trek are not unusual, its only humans that kick the bucket at 150.

Ya know, the Augments might have longer lifespans...

It might be cool to see the Soong family.

Guinan?

It'd be in the years preceding the Borg attack on the El-Aurian homeworld so we could actually get to see what her planet looks like if we got an episode featuring her. Whoopi might be open to returning to the role for all we know and since El-Aurians live for hundreds of years and her physical appearance remained almost unchanged from 1893 to 2293 and then the TNG era she might fit right into her own continuity with little problem.

If Chris Hemsworth doesn't mind doing television and Jason Isaacs doesn't want to stay on, they could always make the new Discovery skipper be Captain George Kirk.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Peter Weller's Admiral Marcus make an appearance in the Prime Universe (just to see if he's not as unhinged)

It makes one wonder about the Carol growing up with the same father in the Prime timeline. I believe the Kelvin timeline Carol was born after Nero's incursion and was raised in Britain with an English mother, thus the different accent heard in STID. The Carol from the Prime history either never had one or eventually lost it.

I love the idea of Guinan, but I'd recast.
