Would you be sad if you found out that human race would be dead in 100 years?

I disagree.
so do I. I think mankind is a good deal tougher and it'll take longer for us to extinct ourselves.
From the point of view of an environmental biologist I would very much appreciate if that extinction took place sooner rather than later. We've already left enough damage for the planet to require milennia to repair it.
From a more personal angle I don't really care that much as I will die long before that anyway. being in my 50s, at a rough estimation I have about 25 years left.
25 years in which I'll be very much ashamed for what my species does to the environment. :blush:

Other than alien invasion or God I am not sure what could be outside of humanities fault. I think maybe in theory if it all was because of one human that could be blamed then that would sort of count in that category because it means at least every other human couldn't share in the blame. Problem though is this human would have been formed from growing up in our society and influenced by everyone from his/her parents to friends to strangers so would that mean we still wouldn't be off the hook with some of the blame?

There are a few things, Asteroid hit, a Super Volcano erupting, massive earthquakes and tsunami's or increase in Solar activity or as Insurance Firms would classify them, acts of god.
That's true but then again if we spent more money on monitoring the sky for Asteroid's we could maybe we could prevent it by sending up a team to nuke it ala "Armagadeon" thus saving us all.

I never worried so much about the future than the last few months. Sometimes it seems like everyday brings something new to fear when you watch the news

I fear it as well but I also have pretty much given up on the idea that anything can do to stop it. I feel like the guy who played Toby from "The Office" on the "The Newsroom" were he basically says we had are chance and blew it and now nothing can really be done to stop it from happening. I'm sure someone who knows how to make links can find that scene. Granted I still think things should be done to prevent if only so maybe we can slow down our doom to gain a little more time on the planet but that is about all I think is possible.

That seems.. bad.
I won't be here in 100 years but if I live a normal life span I'll meet people before I die who will be here in 100 years from today. 100 years is not very long. Certainly one can imagine descendants in that time.
No, the planet will be a much better place for non-humans once we aren't on it.
