At the end of 2385, in a significant shift of its goals from military back to exploratory, Starfleet sent Captain Benjamin Sisko and the crew of the U.S.S. Robinson on an extended mission into the Gamma Quadrant. Tasked with a years-long assignment to travel unknown regions, they set out to fulfill the heart of Starfleet’s charter: to explore strange new worlds, and to seek out new life and new civilizations.

But now three months into the mission, their first contact with an alien species comes in the form of an unprovoked attack on the Robinson. With the ship’s crew suddenly incapacitated, seventy-eight of the 1,300 aboard are abducted—including Sisko’s daughter, Rebecca. But Rebecca had already been kidnapped years earlier by a Bajoran religious zealot, part of a sect believing that her birth fulfilled the prophecy of the arrival of the Infant Avatar. Does her disappearance now have anything to do with the harrowing events of the past? And for what purposes have these enemies taken Sisko’s daughter and the rest of the missing

Looking forward to it - but if we can get a novel that is pure Robinson focused, then they sure as Heck can do a novel that is pure Aventine instead of having to tag them into DS9 and TNG novels.

Agreed. Each time we get a new batch of books I keep hoping one of the will be an Aventine solo novel. I think at this point the Aventine crew could carry a novel all by themselves.

A pure Robinson novel might be an easier sell, given it is Sisko's ship, and he was the lead of a TV show.

Indeed, or a Ds9 novel with ONLY DS9 characters without guest stars from TNG

We got four Seeker books and I believe the only canon character in them was Clark Terrell. If he can carry two books, then I'm pretty sure Ezri could carry at least one.

I was looking at the cover and I noticed that “Robinson” was on the ship, just below the torpedo tube, just where you can see “Enterprise-D” in TNG-HD.

When was the last time we saw Sisko and the Robinson? I know he was in Revelaltion and Dust, but I haven't read any DS9 books after The Fall and I don't remember off hand seeing any references to him being in them.

Sisko's mission to the GQ started in Ascendance. Prior to that, his crew encountered the Tzenkethi in Sacraments of Fire.

I just started this book last night. The last DS9 books i've read in the post-series are the Avatar duology. So i'm putting this book to the test. That i can just jump in and enjoy this book. I'm just hungry to read a new trek book.

This book deals with events from all over the relaunch, mostly from “The Soul Key” on.

    The Historian's Note says:

"The primary story of this novel commences in March 2386, not long after the events of the
Deep Space Nine novels Ascendance and The Long Mirage. Finally freed from patrolling the sector around Deep Space 9 in the aftermath of the assassination of Federation President Nanietta Bacco, Captain Sisko and his Robinson crew finally set off on their mission of exploration into the Gamma Quadrant."

I've ordered my copy of Original Sin. I can't wait to read a new Ben Sisko story it's been way too long Sisko has had a major story line of his own aboard the U.SS. Robinson..
