News Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan To Return To Theaters

2 more tickets bought for the Sept 10th show in addition to the others. It's a great lead up to the new show a few weeks later.

Sure would have been cool if they also decided to show "Space Seed" right before the film. Looking forward to this on Sunday!

Watched "Space Seed" with my daughters. Then watched the first half of "Wrath of Khan" with them.

We'll be driving up to go see the 2PM showing in a couple hours. That's four tickets to see "The Wrath of Khan".

Does anyone know if the Shatner interview is before or after the film? My daughter will be seeing this for the first time, I don't need The Shat spoiling the movie for her.
Just came back. The interview was before, they made a joking point of spoiling the movie, figuring everybody watching it had seen it already.

Does the interview play at the starting time of the movie, or is it part of the stuff they show ahead of time these days, so you need to show up earlier to see it?

Its about 15 minutes long and precedes the movie.

Just got back from the movie. I first saw it in 1982 with my then 6 year old daughter. Today, she is a little older, but we had a Daddy-daughter blast seeing STII again, this time on the BIGGER screen. Very sad to see the names of those who are now gone scroll by. Great movie though.....thanks to those who made it possible!

Just got back from the Burbank 16 AMC Theaters to see "IT" and peeked into the 2:00pm show of Star Trek II to check the quality and it was definitely a 2K or 4K DCP being shown on the cinema projector. I'll be coming back at 7:00 to see the movie. Haven't seen this projected for seven years or so. And that was a vintage 70mm print from 1982 that had faded to magenta. This digital screening looked far superior. Pumped to see this!

Saw it myself, today. Was cool to see it on the big screen for the first time since 1982. There were some things I noticed mostly in the background that I hadn't before (or forgot). The usual (but not all?) broadcast TV scenes / dialog added (my wife argued with me for example that it was always revealed that Peter Preston was Scotty's nephew). Some subtle musical and sound editing (background noises and voices) differences I noted that may be a result of my not having a super-duper home sound system. The Shatner interview was OK; I was willing to chalk up his questionable recollection of some details to age and / or dining on his own BS for too many years. Was worth a few bucks and the couple hours out of my life for sure. Very true how sad it is that so many of the people in the credits are now dead (or in Kirstie Alley's case, just her career).

It was pretty awesome to see it on the big screen. I liked watching with other Trekkies for once. We laughed, we cried, we had fun!

Had a blast seeing it tonight, Theater was maybe 60-70% full, I hadn't seen it at the theater since I was 9 back in 1982. Was great seeing the Enterprise zoom around (and get shot up) on the BIG screen again, in glorious DOLBY 50 billion surround. I actually cringe at the two added scenes with Peter Preston (The airlock scene and engineering scene) but thats a small quibble. The Audience laughed at some odd times in the movie though, Like when McCoy says something like "This is about you flying a desk instead of being out there hopping Galaxies" when he's giving Kirk a little bit of tough love, I never read that line as humorous, it always seemed like a serious heart to heart to me....I just thought it was odd some of the beats the audience laughed at, it made me wonder if I was missing the point of some of those scenes this whole time.

This was a surreal experience. I have been doing a rewatch of TOS, and there's something I noticed about TWOK that I never noticed before...the scene between Kirk and McCoy at Kirk's home is very much like the scene between Captain Pike and the doctor in "The Cage." I wonder if perhaps the scene in the film was inspired by the scene from "The Cage" due to Harve Bennett's marathon viewing of the series?

Also, has anyone ever asked Nichelle Nichols how many takes she did for the line "Regula 1, this is Enterprise. Do you read?"

One more thing - watching the scene between Kirk and Marcus in the Genesis tunnel, I never noticed Chekov in the background holding his ear with a hanky, until seeing it on the big screen (and it made me chuckle).
