i'm not much of a star wars fan, how did the female lead from force awakens

It wasn't because she's a mary sue? i would think even with a large advantage in natural talent, she should not be able to overcome even a journeyman dueler, let alone a supposedly imposing one? but i thought the movie was poor in general, i don't hold it against it. it's 2017 (or whenever the movie was made), i'm well aware women are our vast superiors in temperament, physical ability, and intelligence

Someone shot him.

He was bleeding out.

Also, the dingdong learnt how to be a Sith from an ebook.

Remind me what the title of that book was again?

Your post was okay until that last phrase. If you're simply being sarcastic to make a point, make that clearer in the future, or else it can be taken as being sexist.

how did she best that sith lord dude, the first time she held a lightsaber?
- Kylo Ren wasn't a Sith Lord. The Knights of Ren are more like Sith fanboys who got a bump in prestige when the last Sith Lords were killed off.
- Rey had not previously used a lightsaber, but she was shown in the first half of the film to be an accomplished bo-staff fighter, which has much crossover skill.
- As noted, Kylo Ren had been grievously wounded twice before, first by Chewie's bowcaster bolt, and then by Finn's lightsaber slash.
- Kylo Ren is shown to be overly governed by his emotions and given to temper tantrums, and in the span of the previous ten minutes had just murdered his father and seen his superweapon be destroyed, so besides being shot and slashed, he was having a terribly vexing day.
- Rey appears to be exceptionally gifted in the Force, showing both innate ability and picking up new skills quickly when they are demonstrated for her (she learned Force manipulation of the mind from Kylo Ren trying it on her) like other top Force wielders such as Anakin.
- If the Force has destinies and prophecies it adheres to it may simply have been that the will of the Force was on her side to a large extent.
- Physical strength is not the same as strength in the Force; as Yoda said: "Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you?" He literally pointed to Luke's muscles and said they were irrelevant, because Force wielders are "luminous beings", so the sarcastic comment about women being physically stronger does not apply.

Most of the moves that she use against Kylo Ren were actually staff moves rather than sabre moves. And we saw earlier in the movie that she was very proficient with the staff.

She's actually losing at first, basically just trying her best to keep Kylo Ren from striking her. She eventually begins to trust the Force and is able to start fighting back. Kylo is clearly shown as driven completely by anger, he's visibly injured and still distracted by killing his father. But I only watched the movie and wasn't fuming because a woman was shown as doing something without depending on a man. It's really too bad that the hero couldn't have been a farm boy with absolutely no military training who is able to blow up the Death Star with an "one in a million" shot without a computer. That's just makes common sense because he had a penis.
