I wonder if we will see the Simm Master actually regenerate into Missy, and we have 2 Missy's for a little while? many possibilities.
That's assuming of course that there is not an incarnation of the Master in between Simm and Missy.

Well the episode description says: "Friendship drives the Doctor into the rashest decision of his life. Trapped on a giant spaceship, caught in the event horizon of a black hole, he witnesses the death of someone he is pledged to protect. Is there any way he can redeem his mistake?"
The thing is the way the series has gone that could also be a reference to Missy.

It's a Moffat episode, anyone killed will be brought back by the end anyway.Of course the publicity is all teasing a "major death that will change the show for ever" in the finale - yeah, right. Bill? They killed the companion for a couple of episodes last season. Missy/the Master? Killed half the time the character appears. The Doctor? We know he's in the Xmas Special, and also that he'll only regenerate... Nardole? Who gives a shit. So, basically, irrelevant hyperbole from the get-go on that front.

In seven years, he's mired the show in such a formulaic rut I've forgotten this is a show where anything can supposedly happen.Leave them awaiting the next fellow with a reminder: On this show, anything can happen. ANYTHING.
Is this how Bill gets written out?

If you look closely at her in the BBC America trailer you can see the conversion process is already underway.

Well, considering Derek Jacobi is reprising the role for Big Finish, that contradiction is already happening (simple solution: false memory). That being said, if Big Finish is allowed to use him for his Master, it's unlikely he's returning to the show. But you never know...About the only thing that might work well would be if Missy regenerates into Derek Jacobi - and that would contradict Yana having been found as a child in Utopia anyway....

But that never happened. It was his FOB watches' back story for the human Yana. (Like 10 was a teacher when he FOB'd out).
A thought I've been musing, what if we actually do see the Doctor regenerate and actually do see the new Doctor? Capaldi and the new Doctor then work together for the episode.
I know, it seems very unlikely, but it's about the only thing I can think of which would be truly shocking. And it would tie into to those reports about Moffat and Chibnall coordinating together to create a unique regeneration that's never been done before.
