Hey, Star Trek is supposed to be about exploration and diplomacy, not sitting around a station bickering. Truth hurts sometimes.

And exploration. And inter-planetary commerce, colonization, holographic lifeforms, and on and on.We saw a fair bit of Diplomacy in DSN.

I would have agreed with you in the beginning because Nana Visitor did start out as a soap actress and I thought it showed in her acting. But over time, the show did grow on me in spite of her. It did take a while to find its footing, but got a lot better after the Defiant was introduced and the whole war with the Dominion, Breen, Cardassians, etc. Not many war soaps out there. "Trials and Tribble-ations" remains one of the very best post-TOS episodes.Just for the record, the worst series was, I gotta say, DS9. Look, I'm sorry, any DS9 fans out there, I swear I mean no offense, but it is the one series that I just plain did not like. I mean, to me it's not really even Star Trek: it's a soap opera disguised as Star Trek..
What are u talkin' about?! They did a lot of trekking in DS9. Remember the trips to the gamma quadrant? It was primarily the obvious that I got hung up about with DS9. I like my trekking .. trekking.
You mean the time they explored a planet with sentient holograms? That trek?It was primarily the obvious that I got hung up about with DS9. I like my trekking .. trekking.
It was sort of a joke, BUT...I'd be willing to wager that Sisko went on more exploration missions in his first two seasons than Picard on his first two seasons. But didn't it seem to anyone (besides me) that DS9 became more about war and politics after a certain point? How many times did they get just a purely exploratory mission in the GQ?
I think there was an interesting blend of stories. While the later ones became that, it felt like a natural progression of the story. But didn't it seem to anyone (besides me) that DS9 became more about war and politics after a certain point? How many times did they get just a purely exploratory mission in the GQ?
I have a preference for that whole exploring and moving on type of adventure. But didn't it seem to anyone (besides me) that DS9 became more about war and politics after a certain point? How many times did they get just a purely exploratory mission in the GQ?

DIPLOMATIC ACTIONS WOULD REQUIRE TO HOST DIPLOMATIC MEETINGS OF INTEREST TO THE DIPLOMATS WISHES TO SEE AS LONG AS FEDERATION SECURITY IS DANGER AND SOME WOULD WORK ON STATIONS AS REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE FOR THE STARSHIPS AND PEACE MISSION PLANNING AND STARSHIPS BUILD UP FOR ANY ACTIONS THAT ARISESHey, Star Trek is supposed to be about exploration and diplomacy, not sitting around a station bickering.
