What would be a deal breaker for you in Discovery?

Nope, not really. Especially if they're the Trek blurays.

And I repeat: Trek's visual continuity was frequently lousy. Particularly in TOS. If it's so important, why are you here?

Don't own the crappy "remasters". And was speaking in regard to the essence of the media not minutea.

Besides, a few continuity errors is hardly the same as blatently disregarding the aesthetic of the time period your show is set in.

The rest of your comment suggests otherwise.

Pretty hard to 'disregard' the aesthetic of a completely new and (most importantly) imaginary time period.

Annoying Klingons. I've had my fill of annoying Klingons.
But, this guy looks legit:

In all seriousness, I like the fact that the Klingons in the trailer are clearly involved in a ritual of some kind. It will be interesting to see that unpacked.

For me, it would be if they try to do a rinse repeat on some of the same story lines. E.g. I'm really hoping they do not bring back the Borg.

 Hehehehehe

I just want them to be interesting and have personalities beyond TONIGHT WE WILL DRINK BLOOD WIIIINE!!!!! HONOURRRRRR!!!! RAWWWWR! It's so tiring. I got a different vibe from them when I watched the trailer, luckily.

Very special episodes with 24th century staple villains conveniently not named would be a big turn off for me, too.
Considering they seem to be going for the single story arc route, I'd doubt they do this. Particularly after the reception of Enterprise's Ferengi episode (which I can't remember the name of, and don't think enough of it to check).

I honestly think they will be more of a sect of Klingons, rather than representing the full Empire. Which, would be interesting in of itself.

Acquisition.

In Enterprise related to the Borg, they did the single story line in the episode, "Regeneration," by going through story line hoops as to not have them identify themselves. In any case, for me, the Borg and to a lesser degree the Ferengi are way over used story arcs.

Regeneration worked because it had a decent and established reason for happening (First Contact), and a good reason why it still fit the continuity (info was classified, plus Voyager eps stated there were Borg rumours pre TNG).

Acquistion was just a shambles though....

If it's not good. I'm very open to all kind of reimagining and canon breaking, but if the show doesn't work that's the problem. The rest is of far lesser importance.
