New DS9 Documentary

I got a bit emotional when I watched this video - especially when Andy Robinson was talking about his 39 episodes leading to that moment he was in filming that video. He seems like a really nice bloke.
It made me think of how I was 20 years ago when I first really got into DS9. I would never have imagined I would be giving money eagerly to a documentary about it 20 years later, and really feeling a part of a large community around the world, all contributing to make it so!

It's weird, don't you think - you'd think a character like Garak would have appeared in more episodes!! Mind you DS9 has at least a dozen non-regulars for whom you could say just the same

39 episodes is the better part of every episode for two seasons. Not a bad run at all for a recurring character, especially when you consider that IIRC he only appears once in S1, and that's very early.

The campaign is over but select items are still available for a limited time in-demand: DVD/Blu-Ray, Garak t-shirt, Quark t-shirt, complete pin set, LA screening, NYC screening, and London screening. The Vegas convention was available but it's sold out now.

Very good campaign ... they raised a ton of $ and had some cool promotions/items to purchase. I am really looking forward to this.

That is how you run a quality campaign. Someone a few pages back mentioned the positivity in this thread and through this campaign it's so true. There was a ton of positivity with this, and just watching it grow was a whole lot of fun. I'm really excited for this documentary and seeing more promo material leading up to it's release next February.

The only other Kickstarter I backed was a similar Thunderbirds project last year, which was also a huge success.

I kept meaning to pledge on this one, but only got around to it on Friday night with hours to spare! Just bagged the blu-ray as they were well over the target by then.

Can't wait to see this! The writers' room feature is the one I'm really looking forward to after the roundtable on one of the TNG blu-rays.

Absolutely. I've done a handful of Kickstarter and Indiegogo campaigns but this is certainly the one I've had the most fun with and by far the one I've been the most committed to (although I was also very committed to the Dresden Codak campaign). I think a large part of it, beyond all of the perks, is how interested so many of the cast members are with this campaign. That alone raised a lot of credibility for it.

In case anyone is interested, in addition to the previously mentioned in-demand items, the Garak Tailored Special and the Vic Fontaine One-Night Special are available again.

I wish the Garak one was considerably cheaper. I would go for it if it was $100, $150, but $700 is just crazy.

I think it got lost in the flurry of activity, but the documentary makers also reached out to the guys behind the DS9 "Blu-ray trailers". TBD.

I remember seeing the first one they made. I had no idea they were making more of these short videos! They are quite beautiful if you haven't seen them! Here are their teasers for seasons 2 and 3. And just to be clear, these are not official trailers. They are fan-made.
