Star Wars Rebels Season Three (spoilers)

Though I do recall Filoni mentioning very specifically a month or two ago that while we saw the Ghost in Rogue One, we did not know the makeup of its crew in that movie.
I'd say it's a safe bet Hera and Chopper are still there, but otherwise, yeah, everyone else is a total question mark.

The real mystery is what they'll do with Kanan & Ezra as we can be reasonably confident they weren't still a part of the rebellion by the time of Scarif & Yavin.

One of the original endings of the Original Trilogy (before Vader became Luke's dad) was that Luke would have to leave to find another group of Jedi and his sister (!) leaving Leia to lead the Republic. Or some such. Maybe that's what happens to the straggling Jedi?

Or maybe they're just frozen in time like cup of soup...

Not sure which version that would be since I'm pretty sure Leia was his sister even as early as the rough draft (the one with *two* death stars and ends with both Yoda & Kenobi returning to life.) I suppose there could have been some notes or a treatment that predated that, but it sound more like one of several versions of the sequel trilogy Lucas proposed over the years.

IIRC it was whatever was knocking around when Gary Kurtz left the production.

I think I remember reading somewhere that at one point early in the story development Luke's sister (or at least "the other" Yoda referred to) was going to be a new character, who would then take over as lead for a second trilogy.

Yeah, I think I read that the sister was going to be a new character, but someone realized it'd work better to use someone the audience was already invested in.

Y'know... they could have Sabine away from the Ghost crew for a long time - even months - and then come back by the next episode. This show jumps forward in the timeline frequently. So Sabine may not really be "gone" from the show at all. There's a great chart here, tracking ages of characters and time jumps.

Ithekro posted last page about the Mando ships seen in what appears to be the final battle of the season from the trailers... certainly that must be where Sabine's story is leading. Seems obvious the Mandalorians will be rising up against the Empire before too long. After all, this is a show about Rebels. It's not titled Mandos... maybe that's the new series?

Has anyone mentioned how awesome it is that there are no more breaks?? We can now look forward to new Rebels every Saturday for a month!

Yeah I've read similar things over the years, but it's always been second or third hand. I don't think I've ever seem a primary source for that.

I have to admit, although I knew the Ghost crew starting to break up was inevitable sooner or later, I didn't think it'd start happening quite this soon.

Well we know the Mandalorians will be back from the Mid-season trailer.

Did we ever find out what happened to Cad Bane?

Sabine has graffiti of him on Ghost. Not that it means anything.

Side note, hes going to show up in the third issue of the Darth Maul comic that takes place Pre-TMP.

That doesn't necessarily mean Sabine will get her room back and all will revert to the status quo, because this show doesn't have one. It's been in a constant state of escalating flux from the get-go, broadening in scope, deepening in tone and subject matter, and increasing in complexity.
Even if from here on out Sabine in as many episodes as she has been up until this point, go on as many missions with them as ever or even hang out as often, I think it's a safe bet than unless something goes terribly wrong for the Mandalorians, she's not part of the crew anymore.

That's the kind break-up I was referring to, which as I said was always an inevitability, I just didn't anticipate that the trigger would be pulled in this particular episode. I was expecting it much closer to the season finale.

Because of how quiet they are being, I half suspect that the fourth season of Rebels will be of the renewed format, where they show's title changes and the cast potentially changes as the situation has changed. They move from being a group of Rebels to being the Rebel Alliance, and being taken seriously by some of the Imperials, leading into a two year run to Scarif and Yavin, with the potential for another year after that to see what the fallout of the Battle of Yavin is for the Rebellion. A third season of the renewed show would bookmark the release of Episode IX. After which the Animation department will be able to move in any direction.

According to the chart on Reddit that @billcosby linked to, it says, "Luke and Leia are born two days after Ezra". So, really close, yes.

Then again, what is a "day" when compared to interstellar events, where each planet in the galaxy has its own different definition of a "day"? Is there some Republic / Imperial standard based on Coruscant's "day", independent/local days for each planet (could get very confusing when travelling from world to world), or some other cyclic mechanism altogether?

Given that Padme was there in the senate chamber when Palpatine announced the Empire, it seems unlikely that all of the subsequent events of the movie took place in less that 24 hours, so yeah, Luke & Leia were probably born a day or two after the fact.

Answering that question myself would require a closer examination (i.e. being in the same room with) Revenge of the Sith than I am prepared to make. So, thank you. :)

I knew Ezra was born on Empire day. I just didn't know how soon after that was the Skywalker's birth.
