Strange New Worlds 2017

Hi,
Just wondering what the chances are of another version of the contest being launched? Have enjoyed all of the previous entries. Glad it was revived for last year. Hoping it comes around again.

Peace,
JB

I think the revival was just a one time thing for the 50th Anniversary.

I confess that SNW 2016 kind of left me cold. The stories were too long, some of them - like the Braxton story - didn't jibe with canon, and the E-book won't function properly on a desktop Kindle app (the table of contents is missing).

Part of the reason I am wondering is at some point I'd love another opportunity to send in stories. Just hoping another anthology is being put together. I suppose some of this hinges on sales. If it sells well, there should be more.

There was a similar issue with Canada last year, in connection with Jeopardy!; within a matter of weeks, the issue was straightened out, and Canadians were once again allowed to be contestants on the show.

I would conjecture that the issue here is somewhat similar.

You might be right; I'm getting some deja vu here, I'm thinking this came up before and I was corrected about that in a previous thread.

Due to legal reasons, people entering the competition could only be from the United States of America and Canada, excluding Quebec. It was the same for the design Titan competition too.

See the link I posted above. Many more regulations than the rest of Canada has, which makes it difficult.

In short, the contest runners read the terms and conditions and metaphorically click on, "I do not agree".

To be honest, I'm not that fussed as to the reasoning behind it as it doesn't affect me and I was merely answering a question.

I admit I find it rather amusing that Canadian sweepstakes law requires that entrants answer a math question. Which are usually so easy that anyone can do it. So what's the point?

Then again, these are FL's were talking about here. So there goes the logic...
