Spoilers DC TV Arrow/Flash Universe Crossover Discussion

I
At the end when Kara is talking to Oliver & Barry about how it's only her and Superman on Earth-38 she could have said:
"Oh, and there's this guy in Gotham, who from what my Cousin says is a lot like you Oliver. Only his schtick is bats rather than bows and arrows." Given the Gotham reference in the Supergirl season opener and the reference to 'that other other city where they wear masks' in season one, I thought that could be awesome.
I don't think we'll ever see a reference to Batman that is that explicit. So far most of them have kept it more subtle than that.

They were going to initially have the Earth-1 version of Olivia Marsdin - played by Lynda Carter - as the VP in the crossover, but Warner Bros. came to them and said they thought it would be confusing, so instead of saying "we have faith in an audience's ability to figure out what's going on", the writers decided to change their plans.

gadgets and demons is pretty explicit, unless they are going LITERAL demons.

Rip Hunter also made specific reference to "Dark Knights" and "Men of Steel" in the Legends of Tomorrow Pilot, and although we know that the Waverider can traverse space as well as time and is capable of interdimensional travel, it's more likely than not that he was referring to individuals he'd encountered during his tenure as a Time Master of Earth-1.

In Season 1, Tommy made an offhand reference to the United States now having a black President, but that in addition of itself isn't specifically an overt reference to Obama.

I'm pretty certain there was the standard close-up photo of the sitting president in front of the US Flag that all senior government officials seem to have on their walls in Amanda Waller's office and it was of Obama.

Yeah those silly TV viewers incapable of being able to tell the difference.
Of course it could be linked to the whole 'glowing eyes' that Lynda Carter sported at the end of episode three
.
Another 'soft crossover' storyline could have been that there's an Oliver Queen on Earth-38 but he didn't get marooned on the island and therefore is the same person he was at the start of the pilot flashbacks just older.

While watching Disc 3 of the box set from "THE FLASH" Season 2 (which I had rented from Netflix), I noticed that it had the Season 4 episode from "ARROW" called "Legends of Yesterday".

Did WB include both crossover episodes regarding Vandal Savage from both shows in "THE FLASH" DVD box set?

On the UK Blu release too, they did. (The same with Arrow if I recall correctly). I'm wondering if they plan on doing the same for the next crossover.

Because of the crossover I decided to watch Arrow for the first time and I'm at episode 14 of season 2 now. Didn't want to start a new thread but I am excited to talk about the series because I'm really enjoying it. Loving the storylines in season two so far, like the return of Sara, the League of Assassins, and Moira running for Mayor.

Some asshole did spoil the rest of the season for me on Reddit today so I'm a little pissed about that but I'm sure I will enjoy the rest. Apparently I'm coming up to the Suicide Squad arc. Haven't seen the movie yet though.

Finished Season 2 of Arrow Tonight.

I have to say I really liked Season 2, and Slade was such a scary and insane villain. I really liked how the Island storyline really helped move the present storyline forward, unlike Season 1 where I felt it was merely a diversion and sometimes got in the way. Once we got to the end of the season, the intercutting they were doing between Island and present was incredible, and that final sequence between Oliver and Slade in both time periods was put together really well. I also really liked Blake Neely's music and was wondering if there is a soundtrack out there. The music during the final two episodes (Really the whole season) was incredible. I remember when people were wishing we got the Superman theme back at the beginning of Supergirl's new season, but what Blake Neely is doing is really cool and I gained a lot more respect for him as a composer watching Arrow Season 2.

I love the tertiary characters and seeing them all grow and change over the years. I wasn't keen on Laurel's story at the beginning, but she really came through at the end. I also liked seeing Sara, and I started watching this show because of the Invasion cliffhanger, and seeing Sara is really putting things together in this DC TV Universe that Berlanti and Co are creating through these shows.

There were a few things that did irk me though about this season. Some of the coincidences felt off, like the flashbacks to Oliver getting a girl pregnant, and Thea kinda became annoying at the end. I'm interested to see where she goes in Season 3, but there were times when her pouting was too much. Other than that, loved Season 2. I've had many people tell me stuff about Olicity and how that became too much, but we'll see what happens. Two seasons of Arrow, and various appearances on The Flash, I still like Felicity a lot.
