Just occurred to me that this release would have benefited with non-vocal versions of Uhura's songs from Charlie X and Conscience of the King. Guess I'll have to wait until the 60th.
I don't care for vocal free versions of songs. The voice is another instrument. Would you want a violin free version of a song?
"Charlie Is My Darling" minus vocals is used in "The Way to Eden" during the Captain's Log after the opening credits. It's a shame that instrumental version wasn't included in the La La Land releases. (I enjoyed all the other music that La La Land did include in their releases, of course!)Well, it could be a matter of completism if the vocal-free instrumental track were actually used on its own in some episode. I have the impression the instrumental of "Charlie is My Darling" was used as underscoring in some other TOS episode, though I can't remember where. And lots of shows that have theme songs with lyrics incorporate the instrumental tracks of same into their episode scores, e.g. He-Man or Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Ah ha! I always wondered why that cue wasn't present on the soundtrack, and now you mention it, I can definitely hear it as, if I'm right, the final section of the song?"Charlie Is My Darling" minus vocals is used in "The Way to Eden" during the Captain's Log after the opening credits. It's a shame that instrumental version wasn't included in the La La Land releases. (I enjoyed all the other music that La La Land did include in their releases, of course!)
They only exist as mono mixes, with vocals and music.Guess you'd have to throw in instrumental versions of the songs that were in The Way to Eden as well. I really do like listening to that music. "It's real now!"
That's not a problem with the discs. Whatever service Windows uses to pull that info doesn't seem to have it.
Windows Media Player and iTunes do not read CD-Text.
Yeah, at least there were mixes that weren't filtered through the Enterprise speaker. They only exist as mono mixes, with vocals and music.

I've actually had the same thought. I vaguely remember that too. Could it have been on Nichelle Nichols "Beyond Antares" album? I no longer have that so I can't check.I could swear I've already heard a vocal-free track of "Charlie is My Darling" somewhere.
Ah now see, here we disagree. I don't much care for ENTERPRISE'S "Faith of the Heart" or TITANIC'S "My Heart Will Go On" but both soundtracks include instrumental versions of both as well as a Piano version of the TITANIC song, and in both cases I thought the vocal free versions were better.I don't care for vocal free versions of songs. The voice is another instrument. Would you want a violin free version of a song?

There was a missing song from "The Way to Eden" which I presume has also not been found.
