Was there ever a sound track released for The Animated Series?

" i'm gonna crack my knuckles and jump for joy, I've got a clean bill of health from Dr. McCoy."

That's what I was thinking of. And now that I look at it, that doesn't really count as a song. For some reason I thought there was music backing it. Never mind.

That was a terrific podcast. Saturday Morning Treks has become one of my favorites. (Although the episode where they brainstormed an animated sequel to The Alternative Factor might count as a hate crime.)

The track titles are impressive. Like Mike said, it's "the best episode of Star Trek ever"!

Yes. The Christmas Tree has much to answer for this year.

Neil was on Melodic Treks last week talking about the 4 CD set.

I know I'm almost entirely interested in the first two discs, but where's the love for disc 3 and 4? (Other than talking about Comunique, of course.)

We are going to brainstorm an animated Mirror Universe episode so that is more likely to turn out better :-) That plot, while not how I would have taken it, at least helped explain some of the TOS episode. Not make it better, but at least make a little more sense!

I’m late to the discussion on this but was doing some research on the boxed set containing TAS soundtrack and stumbled onto this discussion. This is fascinating information here, thanks! One thing I’m not clear on is whether the Animated Series soundtrack in this set is stereo or mono? I understand it doesn’t have effects or voice.

Also, it was mentioned that the original masters of season 2 and 3 were found. Except for sound quality, would having these available while the set was being assembled have provided any other benefits? Probably would have saved a lot of work by the producers I’m sure, but any other sonic benefits?

TAS is mono.

Having the masters for the library cues for seasons 2 and 3 would not have been anymore or less work to prep for the box set. I'm glad we found them though and were able to get them released, as we got as much material released from the original masters as possible between the box set and this 50th anniversary release.
