LOL Class

Its not any less stupid than the BBC having a gap year between two series for no apparent reason, other than lack of funding and/or interest on the show.

Doesn't surprise me, really... BBC A's schedule is just too packed right now, what with all the Star Trek re-runs, American action movies and Matt LeBlanc's Top Gear on all the damn time.

Yes... I'm bitter... And Yes.. I should just let it go...

Eh, I haven't watched a TV show on TV in at least three years, so it doesn't really matter to me where they broadcast it.

The first trailer from New York Comic Con.

It has an ominous feel that leans heavily on atmosphere, context-free shots of people looking stressed and fearful, and a sinister voice-over by Capaldi.

There's now another one as well. Looks like Moffat-era Doctor Who is bringing something else back from Fires of Pompeii:

Largely meh. The stuff with Capaldi at the end is the highlight, but otherwise if it weren't a DW spin-off I probably wouldn't look twice at this.

Who? I've just went over the IMDB cast list for Fires of Pompeii, but didn't find anyone who is going to be in Class.

They kind of look sort of like Pyroville to me. Then again Doctor Who's had it's share of villains that look similar to each other. Judoon/Sontarans (at least the armor), and due to prop reuse we had stuff like Axons/Krynoids as well. And I'm pretty sure the Warriors of the Deep Sea Devil outfits are at least partially recycled from those E-space Samurai knight robots.

Capaldi was in Pompeii as one of the Romans.

I took it as a given we weren't referencing Capaldi. After all, Solid Snack's post did indicate that the series was taking "something else" from Pompeii, presumably that meant he wasn't talking about Capaldi.

Exactly. It's too early to leap to any conclusions.

I will mainly be watching this for Katherine Kelly ;) interesting that she comes across both as malevolent yet also an ally in that trailer. Wonder if she's like Strax, a villain forced to redeem herself by the doctor?

Bit too much lampshading of Buffy/rifts/vampire diaries.
