Have you ever met any Star Trek actors/actresses?

At Mission New York this past weekend, I caught most of the TNG and a few DS9 actors during a bit of down time when the lines weren't very long. I just wanted to say hi and thank them for all the entertainment over the years (considering that most people were charging $40 an autograph, I wasn't budgeted to get any signatures).

I told Rene Auberjonois that I first watched him as Clayton Endicott III on Benson and I was happy to see that he had still of both that and the M*A*S*H movie on his table. I chatted with Cirroc Lofton a bit about the logistics of being a child actor and how he was emancipated at 17, enabling him to work longer hours on the DS9 set. I exchanged quick fist bumps with both Jonathan Frakes and LeVar Burton (neither one was doing handshakes, which I can understand). I asked Michael Dorn if he'd be willing to do an interview about some of his voice acting, and he very nicely gave me his publicist's info. My favorite was Marina Sirtis, though. When I mentioned that I started watching TNG as a freshman in high school (I'm balding with a largely grey beard now), she just told me, "Stop right there!" in a good-natured manner.

I'd rather have a good story than an autograph at this point, anyway.

I've gone to many conventions over the years and had the chance to meet a lot of the Star Trek actors.

From TOS I've met William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, George Takei and Walter Koenig. They were all pretty nice, but I really only had a moment with each of them. George complimented me on my shirt.

From TNG I've met Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner and Michael Dorn. They were great. Jonathan and Brent were making a lot of jokes and seemed to be having a great time.

From DS9 I've met Avery Brooks, Nana Visitior, Armin Shimerman and Michael Dorn. They were fun. Avery was the friendliest and gave me a big hug.

From VOY I've met Jeri Ryan and Robert Picardo. They were both fine. Jeri was very friendly.

From ENT I've met Scott Bakula and Connor Trinneer. Scott was really nice. I met Connor at a Stargate convention. He came down to the bar that night and chatted with a lot of fans. He was really cool.

As for guest stars on the shows or actors from the movies, I've met Christopher Lloyd, Chase Masterson, Lisa LoCicero, McKenzie Westmore, Sean Blakemore, Stephen Macht and Dean Stockwell. I met Lisa, Sean, McKenzie and Stephen at some soap opera fan events I went to.

Friend of mine back in the 1970s was a security guard at a local theater. Shatner was doing a little play of some kind, and my friend exchanged hellos with him. Later in the parking lot, my friend's car wouldn't start. Shatner happened to be driving past and very nicely stopped and asked if he could help. My friend was a mechanic, so he had it under control. So no matter what anybody says to diss The Shat, my friend defends him for that nice gesture.

LeVar Burton on an independent film festival where he promoted his movie "Reach for me" in 2009 I guess. It was a nice film and I talked to him about his movie.

I really liked the film because it was much different from the usual stuff (as most independent movies are) so I praised the movie and I guess he was pleased. ;) I avoided any Star Trek reference. ;)

I last saw Shatner when he was doing his college tour in 1976, and it was interesting to compare my impressions as a ten-year-old with those as a 50-year-old. Tempered with experience, but still awed.
He didn't enter his fifties until the Eighties. But still cool :)

I was fortunate enough to meet Mark Allen Shepherd (Morn) and his wife at a convention in London, unlike his character he was quite talkative and an absolute blast, we even sang "Morn to be wild." he also autographed my copy of Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise. :mallory::techman:

No, I was referring to me. I saw him when I was ten, and last week, at 50.

Aw, I didn't know you could do that. That's all I've ever wanted to do, to.
