Dr. Strange - Benedict Cumberbatch Cast!

I think Swinton could be great in the role of the Ancient One. I've seen people online already declaring Doctor Strange "The first Marvel failure" because of this casting stuff. In reality, I doubt enough people will care that it will effect the box office or reviews, and I bet its a good casting choice from a creative perspective that will win over most people anyway. I'm sure Doctor Strange will be another great Marvel movie, with a great cast. People will probably be praising Swinton's portrayal once the movie comes out. I for one can't wait to see the movie.

I don't see the Ancient One controversy having any more of an impact on Dr. Strange than the Mandarin controversy did on Iron Man 3.

I love Tilda Swinton so I'm not very objective in this thing. This will also put her in the club of actors who have worked with both companies as she was in the Constantine film as well.

Kaecilius, who was Mordo's henchman in the comics. Accoring to the CBR article Heroic Hollywood, who originated the story, is saying that Kaecilius will be the main villain, but with his history I'm wondering if there will be twist revealing that he's actually working for Mordo. I've never heard of Kaecilius before, and according to the Marvel Database wiki, he only made twelve appearances in the comics over the year.

Liked Doc's cloak settling around his shoulders, but there was really nothing else about this trailer that grabbed me. It felt generic as fuck with an overuse of the kaleidescope effect, as if that's impressive or a selling point. It isn't, not for me. Nor is the "Inception" like city stuff. I really hope they show us some awesome Ditkoscapes, and I hope they set up Dormammu.

As a long time fan of ole' Doc, I'll definitely see this in theaters, but I'm nowhere near as excited as I thought I would be seeing this second trailer.

I think it might actually be Nepal, but I'm not sure. I think the people working on the movie denied it, but there was a story going around that one of the reasons they made the Ancient One a white woman was to avoid making him/her Tibetan, so they wouldn't upset the Chinese. If they went through all of that to avoid making a character Tibetan, then I doubt they would set a a significant part of the movie there.

I've never really cared about the character all that much before. I've always been more interested in DC's Doctor Fate then Doctor Strange. But the trailer looks really good. That said I'd probably would have no interest in seeing it if they had not cast Cumberbatch.
