Yes.Fingers crossed that we get a longer/alt version on home release a la Bat v Supes.
All that did is take an incoherently bad movie and made it a slightly more coherent bad movie. I suspect the same would be the case here.Fingers crossed that we get a longer/alt version on home release a la Bat v Supes.
You know that WB let the company that made the trailers edit the actual movie? The result is a garbled, poorly paced mess with editing that makes it feel less like a movie than a two hour long trailer.

I don't see how the plot was overly complicated. Evil sorcereress building spell to take over world. Bad guys sent in to take her out.
It's a bummer about SS not getting a Chinese release. GOTG made $98 million in August at the Chinese BO.
No official word has been given as to why SS was censored, but the theory is it was the same reason as Ghostbusters. Supernatural + magical elements and the China's censors asserting their population is very superstitious. With the Enchantress (spirit possession) and magic being such a big part of the movie, there is no way they could edit the film to make it acceptable.
It makes sense, in a sense. Doctor Strange has been allegedly tailor made to remove as much magical/supernatural elements as possible and make things more scientific base. That and removing the Tibetan elements from the Ancient One.
With the Ancient One, it's more of a cultural thing. The Chinese and Tibetan governments have beef with one another, and happen to share a border. So rather than offend the Chinese censors the role of a Tibetan man was recast and alter to fit a "Celtic" woman. The move will still have supernatural elements to it, but it'll be under the guise of science looking like magic, allegedly. The same way the Asgardians are considered aliens and not actual gods.I may be misremembering but I recall a line in there somewhere about her being from another dimension. How hard would it be to emphasise that in the translation?
I'm talking about the Enchantress. It seems a simple thing to frame her as an alien entity masquerading as a god than an actual supernatural being in the Chinese release. Indeed, my whole point was that they sort of do that anyway in the actual script. With the Ancient One, it's more of a cultural thing. It was in that Hollywood Reporter article, has been bandied about a lot, and there's not been a word of denial. You'd think if it was untrue they'd be quick to deny it, given how stupid it makes the studio sound.Has it been 100% confirmed about the trailer team editing the final cut rumor?
Ayer has "sort of" denied it...and there's not been a word of denial.
“…there’s definitely over 10 minutes of [deleted] material on [the forthcoming home video release]. But this cut of the movie is my cut, there’s no sort of parallel universe version of the movie, the released movie is my cut [...]
“There’s a linear version we did where it opens up with June in the cave and tells the story in sequence with the arrests and Batman, and then we go to Belle Reve. Honestly, there may be six or seven different versions of the film. In that version, [test] audiences were left with a lot of questions and a little disoriented as to who to watch and why. So we came up with what we call the ‘dossier’ version which has Amanda presenting the backstories and origins of the various members.”
Me too. I've seen a few people complain about the music and stuff, but I loved that whole sequence.I hope so too, but I hate to lose the opening act, I really dug all the introductions with the classic rock.
I think the fact that SS is only performing slightly behind BVS at this point, despite not starring Batman OR Superman OR Wonder Woman or being a sequel, is an amazing accomplishment.
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/ 10 day total: SS $223m vs. BVS $260m
I keep seeing people complain about the plot not making sense, but mostly made sense to me from start to finish. The only very minor thing that bugged was June appearing to be killed, and then suddenly being fine in the end. Other than that I had no problems whatsoever with the overall story.I don't see how the plot was overly complicated. Evil sorcereress building spell to take over world. Bad guys sent in to take her out.
It sounds like that must be the version the novel was based on, I wonder how different the rest of it is?Ayer has "sort of" denied it...
But then said in a more recent interview...
