Sports in Trek Lit

I've been watching some of the Olympics since they started last week, and it got me wondering, have we seen any sports in Trek Lit?

^Damn. I was actually hoping one of the books would have finally given us a scene with people playing Parrises Squares or at least an explanation for it.

A football (or fútbol/soccer) match between Royal Betazed and Pacifica United was mentioned in the Cold Equations novel Silent Weapons, which I found to be quite interesting (although I don't like the game itself).
Then there's Springball - a Bajoran sport - but I don't know if it was ever seen/described?

Losing the Peace features a high school soccer match, and also makes mention of Deneva's victory over Bolarus in the 2338 Federation Cup.

Does golf count as a sport? Didn't they play that in How Much for Just the Planet?

And it's considered a game in the book, but the version of klin zha with live "pieces" from The Final Reflection is certainly sport-like.

I think we had young David Marcus participating in a game of Ultimate (Frisbee Football) in one of our Vanguard novels.

From the way my two brother-in-laws talk it (they both met their wife's through playing ultimate) it's just a way to get laid and drunk. :ouch:

Having played the sport for a good many years (not anymore...I'm "retired") .............................I cannot disagree. :shifty:

In Vulcan's Glory, Number One and the Chief Engineer were playing a zero-g version of dodge-ball.

LaForge was in the middle of gym class when Capture The Flag opens. He also participates in the Capture the Flag game that is played in the book.

We did see Wesley and his friend apparently skiing in Coming Of Age and then it was mentioned that he had been on a skiing trip to Calgary just the month before The First Duty.

We also had Janeway and Seven participating in that movable-target game in an episode of Voyager (The Voyager Conspiracy?). They had that target flying around the holodeck and were shooting their phasers at it.

Didn't we see Parisees Squares in DS9's Rivals? Or was that squash that Bashir and O'Briend were playing?
