And a great deal more were done by well qualified professionals.
Must admit, you have a point)
And a great deal more were done by well qualified professionals.
Is a "set production assistant" qualified to EP a show in a high profile franchise like Trek? I don't know, educate me.
So you're not qualified. You could have just said so.Is a silver-spoon failed businessman and someone who gets away with breaching national security qualified to be Commander-in-Chief? :P
See "Alec Peters."In any case - the trope "Give me that much money and I can do just as good of a job" overestimates the power of money and underestimates the power of talent, training, and experience.
"Qualified"So you're not qualified. You could have just said so.![]()
Campaigning here won't get you the job. Or any job, for that matter. If you have the talent, do the work. You'll get noticed."Qualified"
PUHLEASEEEEE
Just never got a chance yet
If that's true and it's not a big deal... why all the bellyaching? If Trek's diversity is a well-established fact for you, then you shouldn't care that diversity is a factor in casting for Fuller because it's been a factor in Star Trek casting all along, and there's no reason for you to be flipping out about it like a Jim Crow segregationist who just found the wrong sort of person drinking out of his water fountain. So what gives? Either you recognize that diversity is integral to Trek or you don't. Which is it?Fuller also clearly has an agenda and has made it very clear he plans to go out of his way to cast characters based on race, or sexual preferences. Every Star Trek has been diverse when it comes to gender and race. This is not something new.
Don't be silly. I made up my mind about any other Trek shows just after Enterprise finished...Yep, 30 seconds of test footage and a few fairly generic interview quotes and it's the worst Trek ever.
It may be shit. It may be great. But now's way too soon to judge.
"Personal proclivities"? "Alternate lifestyles"? The 80s called. They want their coded bigotry back. And keep in mind Fuller due to his personal proclivities is going to be biased in terms of wanting to include alternate lifestyles. If they chose another former ST writer that person may not be so inclined.
If the test footage was like the USS-Enterprise F or something like that then I'd be SUPER PUMPED
If it's a prequel it's a mistake. End of story. But because it wasn't the Enterprise-F, you felt the need to make a topic about how butthurt you are and that you think the new show is going to suck based on a 30 second trailer. Yeah, you have a real future in executive producing new Trek shows.
If it's a prequel it's a mistake. End of story.
I never set out to be an EP.. just saying I'd be a better one
Be sure to point that out in your next job interview. That's for damn sure the fast track to the top.If it's a prequel it's a mistake. End of story.
I never set out to be an EP.. just saying I'd be a better one
I don't know.. maybe he wasn't interested.... but I think Rick Berman would've been a good choice for showrunner.
