(And I confess I also mentally pronounce TMP and TSFS as words)
It feels more efficient that way, and the nonsense-word aspect of it makes it fun.


DISC would be okay too, I guess. Though it would break with the tradition of the abbreviation being a nonsense word.
Or how about ... DRY?

Definitely DSC. Not STD, because aside from the crude acronym, we don't call Voyager STV. And not DIS, because all I can think of when seeing that acronym is Disney (big Disney fan here). And DSC and DIS are the 3-letter abbreviations used in TV listings for Discovery and Disney respectively.
