No sarcasm just what I feel. That design does not deserve its own show. The neck looks like its made from lego.I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not.

I can't help but wonder from the kind of aggressive drums at the end and the triangular design of the secondary hull if it's some kind of Klingon/Fed project or something.

I think the ship is badly designed too, and you can watch or not watch whatever you want, but to me saying you won't watch it because you don't like the look of the ship is like refusing to watch Hannibal because you don't like his cooking utensils. Both are probably on screen just as much, and the design of them probably has as much impact on the writing/acting/directing/editing/music quality.
Something to consider. There's a history of ships with long lasting names in Trek, lots of ships have numbers after their registry number. What if this is just a glimpse of the first ship with the Discovery name on it? Later we'll see the A, the B, etc till we get the real one. (Maybe.)
So basically, they're gonna do what Enterprise did? Tread around canon to make sure nothing is disturbed? That's insane.
How was it a kitbash? None of the parts were from other ships
The USS Discovery was a 24th century Federation starship operated by Starfleet.
In that year, on stardate 41044.2, the ship was scheduled for a rendezvous with the USS James Fennimore Cooper and USS Robert Louis Stevenson at galactic coordinates 002/845. After the rendezvous, both ships would transport personnel to the Discovery. Later that year, the orders that referred to this ship were reviewed by Lieutenant Commander Data during an investigation into an alleged conspiracy in the highest levels of Starfleet Command. The ship 'Discovery' could very well be the discovery that propels the story... so I agree, not necessarily pre-TOS.The teaser also begs the question (aside from the name of the ship) thematically in the show - just WHAT is waiting to be discovered...??
I never said I won't watch. But I will not subscribe if they insult the fans with something that hideous. I know its based on an old design for phase II but it was an ugly ship and it is now. What I'm surprised at is that I have seen a few really good modern takes on that shape of secondary hull. This looks worse than the original 70s concept art. Trekyards did an episode on it so I am familiar with it. I feel like CBS is gonna say Aprils fool and I wake up from a nightmare.I think the ship is badly designed too, and you can watch or not watch whatever you want, but to me saying you won't watch it because you don't like the look of the ship is like refusing to watch Hannibal because you don't like his cooking utensils. What, seriously? Where was that? It's a study model, same as the first image released of the NX-01 Enterprise in 1999.

Sorry, but I can only assume this is sarcasm. Or are you honestly saying the starship in a Star Trek series won't actually feature that much on screen. You know like all the other ships haven't.
