So we have a name and a ship...

    USS Discovery NCC-1031

See Ship here [edit: see post below, cannot seem to embed].

It's...it's the Triangle Phase 2 USS Enterprise design!

Not sure what to make of it. Don't know if I like it or not.

I'd love to know the meaning of the severed arrowhead insignia.

That looks like a new take of the discarded McQuarrie Phase II Enterprise.

Not initially impressed, but I'll reserve judgment for the pilot.

Oooh... Did anyone else notice that the ship is identical to Ralph McQuarrie's old Enterprise concept? :techman:

    ETA: Apparently so!

Hardly identical but definitely influenced by...also the low registry number would suggest TOS timeline or there abouts?

It's using THAT bizarre shape? Well it's Ralph McQuarrie, so I guess it'll be alright.

Show isn't out until January, this is probably just something they threw together for SDCC.

If they were not using it, why would they show it?

That is one ugly ship.

But I tend to care more about the characters and the stories, anyway. Did anyone get the full registry number? Looks to be lower than that of the TOS Enterprise.
