Spoilers Spoiler-ish Q&A - Star Trek Beyond

In order to pass the MASH test, a movie must have at least one scene where 2 Koreans are in the scene alone and talk about something other than Korea.

Isn't John Cho Korean? And the guy who plays Sulu's husband too? Does that count?

The signal is designed to interfere with the signal used between swarm ships, and so they require something loud and disruptive. Makes sense in the film, but people will inevitably nitpick it on this forum.

And, according to the film, it IS classical music. The music of today will be to the late 22nd century what the music of Mozart is to us.

That is literally the stupidest thing I've read on the net today.

Had my second viewing today. They've removed All opening credits, tightened up the closing credits, and made a few small edits during the film. Still awesome, will watch again.

No, not destroyed

Makes sense in the context of the film.

Sorry if I missed this but how was Spock Prime's death announced in the movie? Was it just someone making a comment about it? Also what kind of dedication was there for Yelchin? Just something like "In Memory of" during the closing credits?

During the end credits, it goes to black (and silence) before Dedicated to Leonard Nimoy. That fades away and then For Anton comes up. Then the rest of the credits.

If they're writing Chekov out of the next film, then I'd like to see Jaylah join the crew next time. Plus it'd give Uhura another female character to interact with.

Any mention of Spock's father Sarek? I was not really a fan of the casting but it would be nice to see the character again. Obviously in the Prime timeline he will be alive for another century. I would be shocked if killed him off for no reason. Considering his mother was already killed off.

No. Not much of a spoiler, but hey.

If the swarm are connected through telepathy, then an attack using music is not a "dumb idea". Music has been used in psychological warfare for thousands of years. It can be used to disorient an enemy, especially if they are not familiar with the music. In Iraq and Afghanistan, the US Army played heavy metal and/or rock music to confuse and/or scare enemy combatants.
