The Borg Queen (more machine than person and driven genocidal by quadrillions of agonised voices in her head).

Female Founder (Changelings are agender anyway, "she" chose that form for some underlying reason. Totally genocidal).

Sela (Personal vendetta over parental issues, wants to destroy the entire Federation...because).

Winn (Religious fanatic bringing about the apocolypse because of sleeping with Dukat, I mean who wouldn't want the world to end after that...but still).

Oh...

See, this is why I like Tezrene from the books. Tholian's hate *everything* but she still goes to Earth to meet with the other delegates, doing her job and settling for scaring people with her scorpion tail from time to time.

It's got to be one of the most casual new movie announcements I've ever seen.
Definitely very curious to see how everything plays out with George Kirk. I'm a big fan of Hemsworth's Thor, so I look forward to seeing him come back.

There's no way Beyond is going to bomb. It may not do gangbusters, but it's going to do "pretty well" and what the studio may really be doing is pre-selling it (and Four) to the worldwide market (outside of North America). If the MCU movies are doing well worldwide (including Hemsworth's role), then having him in Four is a way to sweeten the pot and get extra financing in place ahead of time. Even if they don't do massive amounts of money, there's something to be said for making movies that have a reasonable budget and turn a reasonable profit every time they release. It would be nice to see studios go back to that model instead of expecting every movie to be a massive hit.

Some of the first rumours we heard about Beyond were that Paramount wanted something like Guardians of the Galaxy, right?

Most people called it BS, but then we saw the first teaser. It's got Beastie Boys blasting in the background. Then we hear that in the actual film, there's even more Beastie Boys and some Public Enemy in there too. Just as Guardians of the Galaxy had our 80s-music loving Starlord, Beyond has our 90s-music loving captain.

Ah whatever, probably just a bunch of funny coincidences. Then we hear about Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 and we're told it'll largely focus on Starlord's father. Suddenly, we begin hearing more about the sequel to Beyond before it's even out, and the first piece of news we hear is that Chris Hemsworth is returning as Kirk's father despite his character being dead.

Hmph.
