Trek 4 to bring together Chris Pine & Hemsworth?

Scenario 1.: The Enterprise encounters a Dyson Sphere and finds a piece of Starfleet hardware embedded on the surface. It turns out to be a transporter buffer, and upon activating it ...

Scenario 2.: The Enterprise accidentally slingshots around a star and the crew find themselves witnessing the arrival of Narada. Recognizing the ship, Kirk destroys it, resetting the timeline.

:nyah:

By the time of the fourth movie, Kirk's first five-year mission will be over (I'm going to assume the movie doesn't take up just three weeks after STB ends). As I think about it, I do wonder what there could be between Kirk and his feelings for a dad he never met at that point that Kirk still hasn't resolved. I'm not saying that to be cold, but we're going to milk "daddy issues" for four movies? Still, I guess it's better than having him run into his "uncle" from ST09. Although his brother (which Hemsworth could play -- but with a moustache, of course) would've been nice.

And @{ Emilia } does have a valid point worth bringing up, where is Mom in all of this?

Drunkle mentioned his mother being off-planet. It looks like she continued her career in Starfleet.

I now hope that 4 ends with Kirk having to let his father sacrifice himself again in order to let events unfold "as they should".

Not in the least because that particular phrasing would really throw the fandom into an uproar.

I'm sure Kirk would be like "goodbye dad" as a homage to when Prime Kirk left David's body on Genesis and said "Goodbye David" as the planet exploded.

Honestly not feeling more time travel.

Just when they started exploring deep space...more time travel. It's okay in small doses but when half the saga is about time travel it gets to be like Bill & Ted's around here sometimes.

How can they afford Hemsworth?

He looks so cute as George, but lately he looks a bit older, especially with the beard.

What's Kirk's mom doing?
Do all men who grow up with a single parent turn into people with enormous daddy issues?

I doubt it.

I didn't, but between this, Once Upon a Time and Lost, I'm starting to feel like I'm the odd one out.

I wonder if they're starting to hit the problem faced by the later TOS and TNG movies whereby the main cast take a bigger and bigger portion of the budget. It would be even worse here, as this cast is in a lot more demand for other films than their predecessors ever were.

If Beyond doesn't reach ID's box office takings, they might even be working under a reduced budget, which would make it even tighter - but then, perhaps it would allow more room for storytelling and character interaction. Much as I liked Beyond, I'd have preferred a bit more time fleshing out Krall over a few minutes of special effects.
