i pretty much agree with you on this. i'm not crazy about Bendis but i have been enjoying his Iron Man books thus far. it would have made more sense to take Tony out of the picture and have Rhodey become Iron Man again. but no, Marvel went with a completely unnecessary and 'shocking' death. That makes more sense. I could see psychological damage from kids.
In other news, Invincible Iron Man (which I think is the best Iron Man series since before the original Civil War) is getting relaunched, with a new Iron Man.

Its going to star the one boring part of the current comic, a 15 year old female college student who built an Iron Man suit and just kind of takes up space without adding anything in the current book. I won't be trying the relaunch. I was happy to have a great Iron Man book again after years without one that was more than tolerable (and the one before Superior IM was just terrible). I'm not going to bother with yet another spin off hero, especially since they're getting rid of a good book to do it and I found her boring in all her scenes so far. It was still nice to get a good Iron Man book, even if it was just for awhile. I'll miss it.
Still, for every Marvel misstep there is a new DC book that is actually good, so maybe Marvel is just trying to help keep my comic reading list from getting too big.
i really don't see this new book lasting that long. plus, we still have International Iron Man. i'm curious how Bendis is gonna treat the whole adopted thing.
