If there's a fact to get wrong, the Cush will be there.

"Number One" and "engage", at least two bits from The Cage that were reused later in TNG. Were there any others? (Riker wasn't genetically engineered, as far as we know.)
Oops. You're actually quoting me, not urbandefault in your post above, @scotpens.
What's she called at that point, Number Zero? And, yes, Number One does end up as a captain in her own right, at least in the books.
Well, it wasn't the Cage, but it was still from an unreleased pilot..... TNG not only uses Number One and Engage, but the whole concept of Ilia/Decker shadowed with Troi/Riker (telepathic sexual alien, the past relatoinship, the name William...) and Data as Xon, curious about human emotions. TNG was a collection of all unused material from the past, it seems. Lol!
CaptainThis thread needs a catchy theme song....

Ma'am. But only when it's crunch time.Captain
Now I've got an appetite for Crunch Berries....Ma'am. But only when it's crunch time.![]()
That was a Voyager reference. And now I've got the beginnings of a Janeway/Number One fanfic in my head...Now I've got an appetite for Crunch Berries....
If tptb objected to Majel just on the basis of her acting, why did they allow her to play Chapel?
Yeah, right.Big difference to opening credits cast and semi-regular (perhaps one-episode?) guest.
I seem to recall an anecdote whereby Majel turned up on the set in a blonde wig to convince Roddenberry she was now unrecognizable, and could play a new role - and Gene was, at first, fooled.
I didn't see a problem with how she performed in the episode! But does anyone know what her real name was, ie: the character in novels, fan fiction!
Seems unlikely, since Star Trek: Early Voyages debuted before New Frontier. The first issue of EV had a February 1997 cover date (which would mean it was in comics shops in late 1996), and New Frontier debuted in 1997 and didn't debut Lefler's mother until sometime later.Marvel/Paramount Comics gave her surname as Robbins (perhaps harkening back to being Robin Lefler's mother in "New Frontier"?)
Or maybe her name is actually Number One.Actually her name is Numera-Won and is of South Asian and Korean ancestry. Pike often fumbles the pronunciation.
This sounds completely believable and not like a made up story at all.I seem to recall an anecdote whereby Majel turned up on the set in a blonde wig to convince Roddenberry she was now unrecognizable, and could play a new role - and Gene was, at first, fooled.
