DC Comics: Rebirth

OK, so I'm hearing that Flash Rebirth #1 continues The Watchmen story. If I'm only really interested in following that particular story line, is this worth buying?

not really. that issue retells some scenes from DC Rebirth and you get one or two pages of Batman and Barry looking at the smiley face button... but thats about it. maybe just Byrne steal it.

There's not going to be a lot of movement in this Watchman connection for a while, and I imagine that various comics will reference the event just to keep it in people's minds over the next couple of years. Brief references in books will be more common than major story elements being presented--and when the story does come to fruition there will be enough exposition to reference what has happened prior. There will also be those little editor notes highlighting what comics to check out.

Don't know if these have been posted yet, design sheets for the new (non-Teen) Titans:

I really like Wally's new outfit. An amalgam of both his Flash and Kid Flash costumes.

I read WW Rebirth and I was totally confused in the way it was simultaneously telling two contradictory origin stories. I had no idea what was going on or which story is supposed to be right now.

I haven't been keeping up on the Titans. What happens to the other blonde Wonder Girl?

I haven't read the issue, yet, but from reading a few articles on the matter, I believe it's supposed to be a mystery at this point, for Diana (and the readers) to find out in following issues.

Last I read was Titan Hunt #1, almost a year ago, and Cassie was fine.

It was a weird revision to New 52 that Suddenly (time jumped) Red Robin (Rob Liefeld!) 5 years after JLA #1 didn't whimsically invent the Titans Brand.

I just noticed that the final issue of New 52 Flash, was issue # 52.

Did a lot of Books finish at #52, or was this just serendipitous?

BASTARDOS!!

The rebirths are specials, not the actual new issue #1s.

Those Titan costumes look excellent becuase they got a fine artist to draw them. The next artist will possibly be a no talent noob, so costume design won't matter squat.

That happened at the end of the "Convergence" event last year. Superman, Lois and their new-born son were brought to the New 52 Earth (of the past, actually, since they've been on this Earth for about nine years). As far as we know, they were the only ones.

Were there any appearances / explanations between Convergence no8 and Lois and Clark no1 ?

No. In fact, the announcement text for the L&C series was quite misleading, what with "find themselves on a new Earth" kinda misleading the readers. It wasn't clear that they had ended up on the New 52-Earth until the first issue of the series.

Maybe the Telos book explained some of what happened?! I haven't read it.

I wonder how the Titans will work when New 52 Omen is a psychotic killer, and from what I read New 52 Donna Troy is also an unrepentant psycho in Finch's terrible WW run. The retcons are going to have to be pretty extensive to save those characters from the writers who ruined them in the New 52.

A point of Rebirth is that someone (Dr Manhattan?) has been buggering with reality and memories. It's likely that prenew 52 memories in the major players are going to be rekindled until what passes for History is a composite of both accounts of reality.

The only problem with that is they specifically say that Wally starts losing his old memories the second Barry pulls him out of the speed force, and the New 52 starts letting him in. So, by the end of Rebirth #1 Wally isn't even going to remember his wife or kids, or the fact that he was older and got de-aged or that a old universe used to exist. If his memories are being altered and erased, I doubt anyone will be remembering stuff from the old universe (its weird how Lois & Clark from pre-Flashpoint didn't have their memories altered when they arrived in the New 52 universe, but Wally did).

I only read the three page preview on Comixology, but even from that it seemed to me that the book is purposefully dealing with the contradictory origin stories we've been given for Diana over the years.

But I think the whole point of Rebirth is that they are bringing back elements from the pre-Flashpoint timeline, so even if Wally was forgetting stuff, that's not going to be the end of the old universe stuff coming into the New-52 universe.

Comixology is doing a big N52 sale to go along with the beginning so Rebirth, right now the complete series of Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Flash are available for $0.99 for each individual issue. I just got the last 11 issues of Azarello's WW, and the first arcs for Flash and Aquaman.

Hopefully you're right. Its just weird how they're going about some of the Rebirth stuff.

The New 52 Aquaman series started out pretty good and stayed good for awhile, until Geoff Johns left. I wouldn't say it was quite as good as Peter David's old run, but it was still solid.
