Ghostbusters 2016: Talk about the movie(s).

I know Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson all have cameos, but have we heard anything about Annie Potts having a cameo, too? Is it safe to say that she does considering her appearance on Kimmel with the rest?

Edit: Never mind, the article confirms she does as does Sigourney Weaver. I hadn't heard either of them making a cameo appearance, too, so that's cool.

I believe the only surviving cast member who doesn't have a cameo is Rick Moranis.

Translation: He doesn't agree with me so he's wrong.
If Melissa McCarthy or Paul Feig said that the new film was the best Ghostbusters ever, would anyone take the comment without a big grain of salt?

What about William Atherton? :)

True, I mean his comments are questionable. But to outright dismiss them altogether is a bit unfair. He could genuinely like it, we don't know.

His character has to be a contender for "most punchable in the history of cinema".

I actually don't plan to see this, but it has nothing to do w/the cast. I wouldn't be going if it had the originals back, as I loved the first and never saw a reason for more. I didn't go see Ghostbusters 2 [or Men In Black 2 or 3] for the same reason. Hope they do well, sounds fun, don't want to see it.

New one minute international trailer:

I think I've said this elsewhere, but I love that ominous, swirling clouds are a staple that's identified with the Ghostbusters.

Likewise, I'm hoping that the trailers' use of original sound effects mean they'll show up in the movie (like Star Wars) or at least updated (like Star Trek), but I still haven't heard anything close to the original proton stream sound effects. :(

I've no doubt that he could genuinely like it, but he also genuinely liked Nothing But Trouble, a movie that took 1.5 hours away from my life that I'll never get back.

I like Dan Aykroyd, I think he's a swell guy and a legendary performer, but if I like this movie, his input is probably not going to factor into that enjoyment.

Now, if someone like Bill Murray or Ernie Hudson was in a production role and everything else remained the same, I'd probably be more apt to listening to them, since they don't have a track record like Aykroyd's of hyperbolic self-promotion. I'm also more open to listening to Feig promote than Aykroyd because of Feig's track record over the past decade or so -- that is, the ability to back up his promotion. "Trust me, 'Spy' will be great!" And behold, it really was great.

The funny thing is, he was literally just doing his job. The entire EPA subplot feel like Ramis' libertarian streak coming out.

They may be, but we can't know because there's a bias there.

Cold hard cash ;)

Speaking of Aykroyd singing the films praises. I was talking to a friend the other day about this, and we both agree Sony hasn't really done themselves any favors by attacking the people who dislike the idea of this film and implying they're all Trump Supporters (Apatow) and/or sexist.

Sony considered suing Bill Murray to get him out of the picture so they could legally make Ghostbusters 3, I'm not surprised their PR department isn't the most rational on the planet.

doing his job badly. if someone is keeping toxic waste in their backyard the EPA doesn't show up and dump it down the sewer.

Was he doing his job? What evidence or proof did he have that the Ghostbusters were holding toxic materials on their premises other than suspicions? He further goes beyond his role as the head of the EPA and acts like, I dunno, the BBB a claims the Ghostbusters are huxters, intoxicating their "clients" and using a "fake light show" to make it appear they're busting ghosts.

He says this without any evidence and this is after a big explosion that's unleashed a torrent of paranormal activity all over the city.

He initially comes in and wants a look around and Peter, rightfully, denies him that. He then comes in with a court-order, a few cops and a Con-Ed guy. How he managed to get any of this based on nothing but his suspicions and without any evidence whatsoever there's anything hazardous going on in GB-HQ is beyond me. He then orders to just shut all of the equipment off, ignoring the experts with the equipment -the Ghostbusters- and his own electrician who says he's never seen anything like the set-up they have. Why just simply shut off these machines if he doesn't know what they do or how they operate? Isn't that like barging into a fission powerplant and telling them to just turn off their reactor? Yeah, they can force it to happen but then you have a meltdown.

Dickless was an idiot and I'm glad he got doused with molten marshmallow (which would be pretty damn hot!)

I forgot about Atherton, but I haven't heard anything about him. I think he did come back for the game, so he is or at least was at the time, still willing to do Ghostbuster related stuff.

But was any of that actually coming from Sony? I thought most of those were just off the cuff comments made by people like Apatow and Feig during interviews, not actual official statements made on behalf of Sony.

We actually got a bunch of GH toys at Wal-Mart where I work. We got some classic movie figures, some new movie min-figures, and Slimer and Stay Puft talking plushes. The SP plush is kind of accidentally obscene, you have to squeeze his crotch to get him to make his noises.

I don't know, I'd raise an eyebrow at a bunch of dudes who had radioactive backpacks and were firing highly destructive beams all over the place.

We've got a new international trailer. There's a tiny bit of new footage in it.
