It's all because Kirk said something about "underestimating humanity" while pointing his phaser.
Obligatory "social commentary" established, adoration of the customary Star Trek pew-pew may commence.![]()
I kind of feeling the same way. I'm happy the trailer is working and that people are feeling more in to the film, and more excited about it. That's great and I hope the film succeeds because of it.
But, while the first part of the trailer was great with Kirk and Bones talking and such, the last half felt very jerky and unoriginal. It reminded me too much of Rogue One, going from the pithy to the action with all the transition of shifting a car in to first from 5th.
Yup, I'm baffled by the reactions, but that's marketing for you.![]()
Description?Someone on Facebook reported a Beyond TV commercial already.
I'm not acting like its the first time. It's just underwhelimg to me, is all.Almost every trek movie trailer in history starts off slow and ends with a crescendo. Why act like it's the first time?
There is none. I'm still trying to find mention of it.Description?
I just saw the new star trek trailer on ABC at 8:19 pm on the billboard music awards commercial break!
All of it? Or a 30 sec commerical? It was the trailer on Fear the Walking Dead.
http://www.trekbbs.com/threads/star-trek-beyond.270580/page-218#post-11590280Someone posted a German tv spot or they are saying it is on youtube. Looks like a remash of bits of the trailer.
It looked like all of it. AMC is playing Fear all night. The quote from the viewer who saw it:
I'm trying to confirm this with
Trekcore right now.
All of it? Or a 30 sec commerical?
oh this was a great mashup. great jobIf anyone's interested, I made a mashup from the latest trailer. I did this with Into Darkness back in '13 as well.
Trailer round-up:
So for some reason the stats didn't show for me yesterday for the facebook sourced trailer, but now I've seen it. It's over 9.7 million views, 321,000 likes and almost 200,000 shares.

A 4K source trailer is available here for those of us with 4K Tvs:
I noticed the paramount trailer now has an addition to the end of Simon Pegg inviting people to subscribe for new videos. I was wondering if the individual in the comments responding as 'Simon Pegg' is actually Simon Pegg. Probably not but who knows!
