Stories You Would have Enjoyed Seeing

Malcolm joins space internet and does online dating except the guy he thinks he is dating turns out to be a woman and is annoyed that they lied to him rather than just being honest.
(That was my idea around Season 1 or 2)
Also an episode called Daedalus that has a Daedalus-class ship and not whatever that one I've never watched has.

I wanted to see the Colonel Green episode. (It was basically abandoned when Brent Spiner expressed interest in being on the show, so the character of Arik Soong was created instead.)

Also, an Earth-Romulan War season would be nice. :rommie:

It would've been great, seeing Hoshi and Travis together. They both seemed really nice, I'm sure they would've been a fun couple.

I don't have any particular story ideas in mind for -ENT- that we didn't get to see, but I would've definitely liked to have seen the tonality of Season 3 continue. I thought it was very strong and that the show had finally found itself. Another 4 years of that would've hit the spot, for me ...
How would you do the romance between Travis and Hoshi? There's like a million stories of her and Malcolm, but I think she's better suited for Travis!

That's a good question and I'd very much like to answer it, but this pairing was an idea of yours which I happen to agree with. I'm not really prepared with an episode idea for them, or anything. What are your thoughts?

I would just be glad that they're both Human, so they're easier to write for. I would have their relationship be playful, in general. I wouldn't have them be prone to starts and stops all the time. I wouldn't have them be sappy. Just a couple people who are happy to be young and in love. That's it. And leave all of that heavy drama and denying feelings and marrying other people, instead of eachother only to long to be in one another's arms shite to Trip & T'Pol. It would serve as a nice contrast, I think. Outside of that broad overview, I guess that's about it, for now.

I actually like the idea of a Travis/Hoshi romance. And I agree that something that was drama free and organic would have been a great contrast to the Trip/T'Pol pairing. And I also agree that having this romance start during Dead Stop would have made sense.

I never saw any spark between Hoshi and Malcolm. Partially because of the personality differences and partly the large age difference (though I THINK Malcolm was meant to be younger than Dominic since he was still a Lieutenent )

I'd have liked to see Malcolm's history with Section 31 explored further. I'd also like to have seen more Romulan action - from their defeat with their drone all the way up to the war.

To torment you..

It has been recently disclosed that if Star Trek: Enterprise had been renewed for a fifth season, Manny Coto wanted to do a Kzinti episode. Much of the concept for the episode "Kilkenny Cats" (which was based on a story by Neal and Jana Hallford) was to draw from the earlier concept Star Trek: Lions of the Night by Jimmy Diggs. D.C. Fontana and André Bormanis were also involved in the editing of the script.

All from: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Kzinti

I really wanted to see this episode. :(

That's what I'm thinking too. I'm likely going to have to watch the episode to get some good inspiration. I wish they had deleted scenes on the sets. They could've had one about the meeting between Hoshi and Travis sitting in a vault somewhere for all we know,. That would've been awesome to watch.

An arc on the fabled Earth/Romulan war arc - no longer covertly waged, but erupting full scale.
More focus on how the Federation actually came into being, how the species that would become founding members of the Federation started trusting each other, and such.
And of course, there would be room for smaller stories told against this background.

Then again, that's what I'd hoped Enterprise would be about before the series started ....

My top 2 would have been:-

1) The Romulan War - We have seen war's in DS9 so there is no new breaking ground but it was eventually a important step in the founding of the Federation.

2) Reed having to work with Section 31 for a time, it could quite possibly coincide with the Romulan War. It could have been interesting in having Reed having to work solo for a short space of time.

I agree with Apollo 1984 I would've like to see more of Malcolm Reed's working for Section 31 and why he Disliked Harrison so much. Also more stories with the Vulcans would've been interesting to see. I wanted to find out more backstory of T'Pol's past on Vulcan when she worked for the Military and intelligence too.

I'm watching Azati Prime and kinda feel Season 4 should have had another Xindi story, maybe for some closure or something.

The novels address some of these issues to a degree, but I would like to see it onscreen.

I' haven't gotten into DS9 too much, but as I recall, wasn't Section 31 an organization that had no accountability, and became "darker" over the years? My theory on why Malcolm disliked Harris was because of the "dark" side of Section 31. Malcolm seemed to me to be a "by the book " kind of guy, who placed a high value on honor and service. We saw how he disliked the idea of torture. He joined up as "a young ensign" (as he told Archer) for the excitement. I'm thinking that the questionable tactics that they used probably soured him on the idea of that organization.

Yes section 31was first featured in Star trek ds9 as being very sneaky and using their agents to ,manipulate people Like Malcolm and Bashir and seem like being dishonest to get their agendas done. In one of the Enterprise episodes Captain Archer mentions Section 31 in one either Affliction or Divergent. It's been a while since I watched the Klingon shows.

The Enterprise trying to rescue the "real" ECS Kobayashi Maru. Seeing the real event which inspired the famous command test from Wrath of Khan (and later Star Trek) would be awesome.

Of course, for it to work and the Enterprise survive, they'd have to come up with one hell of a deus ex machina. Could the writers do justice to the concept?

No deux-ex machina necessary. Obviously, you don't do a story that kills the ship and crew, only one that delivers them a crushing defeat of one sort or another and forces them to examine their own psyches and reactions. Then, in the aftermath, someone on the crew or back at Starfleet Command gets the idea that it would make an interesting test of character to place command school candidates into a simulation from which there is no path to victory, or even a morally correct resolution. Then you take it from there.

Also, the assumption has always been that the 'Kobayashi Maru' test was the same for every candidate. Based on the name of the test, it would seem that at least the name of the stricken ship would be the same, but perhaps the actual simulation itself varies from candidate to candidate. All that is required for the test is that it be a no-win scenario.

EDIT: I see someone had a similar idea as well.

Well wee know that at least Kirk and Saavik's test was very similar because Kirk made it possible to rescue the ship. I thought the two options of the Koayashi Maru were leave the ship out there to die, or die yourself at the hands of (insert space enemy here).
