Doctor Selar

The TNG novels had a Vulcan counselor named T'Lana for a while. No relation to the Vulcan Love Slave character, maybe.

She would've been interesting to see a character like Selar get a chance to develop. I didn't think Crusher was an interesting character in any season, nor was Troi, but Selar would've given the impression TNG can't hold up without the cliches done already on Star Trek.

If Selar had stepped up after both Crusher and The Gorgon had left, would she have acted differently to Crusher in "Best of Both Worlds"?

I would like to think that she'd lose her mask and control of emotions when Picard comes through in part 2

I was never especially intrigued by Selar, though I did like it that she had some height to her. Nurse Ogawa should've been developed much more than she was, though. I found Alyssa to be compelling ...

When I met Suzie at a con, she was really happy that I wanted to talk about Love and War instead of Trek.

She was only on-screen in one episode, but I remembered her. The character was okay, but I never liked the makeup / hair style they did to her. She was made too masculine, in my opinion, and I always thought they could have done something a bit more feminine and still kept the stoic Vulcan demeanor intact.

Plot Twist - transgender Vulcan?
