DC Comics - Ongoing Discussion - SPOILERS

Some of this stuff does sound interesting. I've gotten the impression that most people really like Greg Rucka's first run on Wonder Woman, so it should be
Well, there sales are apparently not great and Marvel dominates in market share (ie the percentage of the comic market a company controls/the percentage of the total comic book sales by company), with February having Marvel at 40% and DC at 26%, which is only slightly different then the 2015 overall of Marvel at 38% and DC at 25%.

It actually pretty interesting, and Diamond Comic Distributors has all the info, in a pretty easy to find way. 2013 had DC at its closest to Marvel, with them only 3% behind Marvel, but now its down to 14% below and month to month doesn't seem to be going up. DC hasn't actually beaten Marvel in any of the years there are stats for (it goes back to 2002). Marvel also seems to have DC beat in top selling books (of the top 30 top selling books in 2015, DC only had 2, and they were both issues of Frank Miller's Dark Knight III comic). No matter what way you look at it, Marvel Comics is kicking DC's butt. Sure, DC hadn't beaten them in awhile even before the reboot, but post reboot they haven't been doing much better then pre-reboot (at least not for long) and last year had their second lowest year market share wise since 2002, with them only doing worse in 2008.

Whether I like them or not, and regardless of the fact that they are obviously doing enough to survive, DC is definitely not doing Marvel numbers, and its not like Disney magically boosted Marvel Comic's performance. More people want to buy what Marvel is selling compared to what DC is selling.
OK, you are right here.
The approach they are taking here is interesting. They seem to be bringing back a lot of old stuff, like the pre-New 52 Superman, and Green Arrow's goatee, but also bringing in a lot of new stuff.
I'm not sure if I've heard of Tom King, but I believe I heard he's worked closely with Scott Snyder so he has potential.
Detective Comics sounds like it could be interesting. What have they been doing with Batwoman since her series ended?
I tend to associate Abnett with Marvel Cosmic, so him on Aquaman caught me off guard, but it does sound like it could be interesting.
Are Conner and Palmiotti on Harley Quinn and Johns on JL the only creator lineups that aren't changing?

I know I read at least one trade of Rucka's WW run and I didn't find it particularly good. I haven't read a lot of good WW stories though. I tend to not like to comic books using magic and gods in them.

From what I've read in several articles, brian Hitch is taking over JL from Johns, so that line up is changing.

Oh, I thought Johns was talking about what he was doing. I guess he must have just been talking about what Hitch is doing on the book .

I see that Clark's costume is even darker than the previous iteration

Actually considering it sounds like this is the Superman from the Lois and Clark comic series aka Pre Flashpoint Superman it would actually lighter than his previous one which was black.

You mean the teeshirt he wore after he was de-powered? The New 52 "armor" was blue. The promo illo looks suspiciously like the old "blue for black" motif.

What the promo looks most like, actually, is DC obliging Warner Bros with a "remember what movie is opening this weekend" plug.

Brian was already doing a Justice League series.

Was/is that just a mini?

It is noteworthy, that Hitch is both writer and artist on the current JLA series, but will only write the twice-monthly JL series. My take is, DC editorial and maybe Hitch himself came to the conclusion that he's just too slow in the art department and therefore will concentrate on the writing from "Rebirth" on. I hope, though, that we at least get the occasional cover out of him, he's just too good an artist not to do art.

No, Geoff Johns confirmed that the Superman in Action Comics will be the one from the current Superman: Lois & Clark series, who is the pre-Flashpoint Superman who, together with his Lois Lane and their son Jonathan, made it out of last year's Convergence crossover into the current DCU, where they've lived for nine years, using new identities. In that series, pre-Flashpoint Superman opted for a black-and-white costume and worked in secret.

On the cover art for Action Comics presented at WonderCon, Superman wears the same costume as in the Jim Lee announcement piece, and since AC-Superman is pre-Flashpoint Superman, it does look like this will be the main one.

And, since that Superman currently wears black-and-white in Superman: Lois & Clark, the darker blue is actually brighter than the mostly black costume.

Bryan Hitch as an author has not been terribly impressive for me so far, so him writing Justice League is.... ennnnnh...

Well, there's a lot of gobbledegook to get around the fact that Superman's new costume is darker than the one he's been wearing since the New 52 reboot.

Superman is Kal-El from Krypton, raised as Clark Kent on Earth. Super strong dude flies around in a cape, bullets bounce off him etc.

...Who is in love with Wonder Woman, and they bone in space.

New thought about supersex in the new movie.

Bathwater acts as a safety cushion. Without bathwater as a medium to screw through, Clark leaves massive bruises and and fractured bones. They can only do it (comfortably) in a bath tub full of water. If (brittle, sensitive and delicate) Lois is resting in a tub, that is an invitation/requestion/demand on her man to get bizzy.

Which one? Because this could very easily turn into a perverted game of Three Card Monty.

1. Clark's daughter From Earth II.

2. Clark's Cousin from Earth II.

3. Arion's magical Atlantean daughter who's been in stasis for 20 thousand years.

. The DC Universe has gotten darker and pessimistic as a whole since the reboot.

Darker than Batman getting his back broken and replaced by a guy who went nuts and killed people, darker than Green Lantern went insane and killed the entire Green Lantern Corps, Darker than Wonder Woman snapping a guy's neck, darker than members of the Justice League mind wiping and brainwashing villains, darker than golden age Superman aka the guy from which all superheroes are inspired by deciding the wipe out the entire universe and thus basically kill everyone in DC existence becuase he didn't like how the universe turned out so he wants to start over, and ect.

What, you thought the pre Flashpoint universe was all sun shine and rainbows?

Sure, other than the rape, the beating sidekicks to death and crippling gunshot wounds, it was like a trip to Candyland.
