    Blurb:
The “fifth season” saga of the Star Trek: Enterprise TV series continues with this action-packed original novel!

Admiral Jonathan Archer has barely settled in as Starfleet Chief of Staff when new crises demand his attention. The Starfleet task force commanded by Captain Malcolm Reed continues its fight against the deadly Ware technology, but one of the task force ships is captured, its Andorian crew imprisoned by an interstellar Partnership that depends on the Ware for its prosperity. Worse, the Partnership has allied with a renegade Klingon faction, providing it with Ware drone fleets to mount an insurrection against the Klingon Empire. Archer sends Captain T’Pol and Endeavour to assist Reed in his efforts to free the captured officers. But he must also keep his eye on the Klingon border, for factions within the Empire blame Starfleet for provoking the Ware threat and seek to take revenge. Even the skill and dedication of the captains under Archer’s command may not be enough to prevent the outbreak of the Federation’s first war!

The ROTF novels have been fantastic from the beginning, so I can't wait for this one. Also, one of the best covers I've seen!

They're actually saying "fifth season"? I'd call it at least a sixth, given that the 4-book Romulan arc was the "fifth." Although that arc spanned from 2155-61 and Rise of the Federation has so far covered from 2162-65, so I think we're way past season models...

^ It does sell it better to casual fans, perhaps. And 'fifth season' seems a popular phrase among Enterprise diehards

I'll be skipping this one and I suspect the cover isn't indicative of what actually happens in story.

Why not? It is clearly marked with the Spoiler pre-fix and it's the MO for this forum to have spoilers in the review threads.

The cover is, in fact, based on a scene in the novel. Doug Drexler consulted with me to find out if there was a suitable scene, and the cover is based on the sequence I described/excerpted for him.

Great cover, I have been waiting a long time for this book. Although I like the whole series, the third novel was by far my favorite, so I'm very anxious to to see the conclusion.

Just a quick question, and a simple yes or no will suffice: Is that Vol'Rala?

Yup. Which essentially makes this the first ROTF book to have a ship named Enterprise on the cover.

Picked up a copy the other day. Won't get around to reading it in a while, since I haven't even finished Beneath the Raptor's Wing yet.

Thank you for the mention in the Acknowledgments; I was as delighted as I was surprised! I can assure you I will brag about it at every opportunity ;)

In the interest of keeping my rather specific line of pedantry up to date:
I take it the HomneH mentioned in chapter one is some form of bone club? Is it similar to the one Chancellor Gorkon uses as a staff in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country?
