Lucifer - Season 1

The bit about removing the wings to become mortal was used in 'Dogma', not sure if there is any folklore on it.

It looks like One Angel's Journey to Becoming a Man. Who wants that? Boring. That was the plot in that Nick Cage film City of Angels. In that case it was all for love which is the most powerful reason there is. Lucifer seems to be doing it because he threw a tantrum at the cosmic unfairness of it all.

So far the only human who has hurt Lucifer is Chloe, I believe. I can understand not wanting to test the theory out with guns again, but I wonder if he is vulnerable to other humans?

An interesting question. So far, only been injured by Chloe or his fellow Angel, so he should probably find a way for one of the bad guys to throw a punch at some point, just to check...

Oh, that's an interesting thought. Maybe Chloe is part-angelic after all.

Except... why would that make her gun, or rather a bullet fired from it, able to hurt him? Although I guess mystical forces can work in mysterious ways.

It's getting closer to her being a Nephilim, Mazi is apparently a Lilim demon so they already have one halfbreed type being going.

Not sure how she imbued the gun with any abilities, or is it simply because she's the one holding it? if anyone else picked up the same one and fired it wouldn't work?

Assuming Chloe really is uniquely able to harm Lucifer, then I would guess because she did the shooting, yes. Her being a Nephilim, could be, or God's a fan of her films, too?

I hadn't thought of that, but it defintely would add an interesting layer to the mysteries surrounding her.

Has anyone gotten a sense of where the show is headed? The only real arc I see is the stuff about his wings. Although Gov Kodos ideas about Chloe being "different" is intriguing.

Her being created to be some kind of partner for him through eternity and giving him a reason to go back? I don't know, we're only 7 episodes in right now.

It's more that we have potentially 3 Angelic beings, and none of them are pure Angels. Luci is a fallen, Amenadiel is a reaper (black wings, patrolling the gates, managing souls and demons along the borders) and Chloe might be a Nephilim (really don't know if they even have wings/grace/divinity etc)

At least God is "home" in this series, unlike Supernatural.

some are believed to be the offspring of humans and the Nephilim/giants that lived before the Flood, others are the gods of other religions (which is kind of rude), etc.

Anything to fill out D&D Monster nanuals. After all TNG used "Daemon" Daimon--as a term for Ferengi ;)

Now what to I have to do to capture my guardian angel--that is bound to be a drunk what with my bad luck...

And count your last days? I doubt they'd take kindly to something like that. They're awfully smite happy in all fiction.

Tonight's episode added some twists with Detective Douche. I wonder if Amanendiel cured Malcolm to push this along? So, was Linda's change in therapy routine with Lucifer all her idea, or was it talking to Chloe? And now he knows Amanendiel is snooping around. Maze looked a little worried there in the end. Interesting set of pins set up for the last set of episodes.

The whole thing with Dan being the dirty cop was a nice twist, I did not see that one.
Chloe, Lucifer and Dr. Linda all working together was fun. I'm wondering if Malcolm's comment when his buddy joked about hell not wanting him is going to be significant
It will be interesting to see what Luci does now that he knows Amenadiel was talking to Dr. Linda.
I have to admit I completely forgot that Amenadiel healed Malcolm, I wonder if that has anything to do with Malcolm's comment I mentioned before. Could his soul have already been in hell and being healed pulled him out?

I think you guys might be stretching it by suggesting that Chloe may be part angel. I think it's a simple case of Lucifer subconciously making himself vulnerable. (Either to her specifically, or in general.)

And yeah, Detective Douche earned his nickname tonight (the show kind of telegraphed it throughout the episode though). So that will clear the way to Chloe to hook up with Lucifer. That's kind of a bummer, I think I would have preferred it if she forever thought that he was not her type.

Well, good thing female characters don't have to hook up with their leads, male or otherwise.

Sure, Chloe doesn't have to be angelic to be unaffected by Lucifer's powers or to be able to overcome his invulnerability, just blessed in some fashion or other. The last scion or something, chosen of god, whatever. And so far, we don't know if she really is the only one who can hurt him. He may no longer be invulnerable at all. Though, I would have expected his hand to have been mangled when he punched that wall in the doctor's office. Whether that means he is still invulnerable or it's a continuity gaffe remains to be seen.

I suppose it could be something subconscious. In the comic 'Mage' Kevin Matchstick's powers were dependent on being true to his quest/destiny. Lucifer's powers could be somewhat similar in regards to Chloe. He may not be devilishly inclined towards her so the mojo isn't happening with her.
