I went to the Tasmania Welcomes Diversity Rally today. We were counter protested by the Reclaim Australia/UPF groups. They had to walk about three block to reach us. The police made them stay across the street from where we had gathered.

I have heard criticisms of David Jones' being too bland (they've gone for the most part black and white 'colouring-in book' theme.
The Myer windows in Melbourne are drop dead brilliant this year. Pretty much firming up as my favourite ever. The miniatures, especially of Flinders Street Station and evrons are so good.

Shit that is fast... How does that work for regular voice calls. Is there still a line for a house phone?
Via my modem and ethernet port the best I get is 1.1mbps but speedtest says 6.5

My son downloaded World of Warcraft in 90 minutes. It is 38 GB and before it took him all night.
At one stage when he was downloading WOW our download speed fell to 7.3 Mbps but most of the time it was above 10.0.
I have been testing about every 15 minutes. The latest test was 19.88 and 15.86 - so I am quite happy with the speed.
What I am not happy about is my books from Audible don't old down any faster - that must be their site not my speed.

Well does the house phone still need a copper line? Isn't this the copper Turnbull internet the LNP want or is it optical fiber?
I think I got optical fibre because the technician told me that the suburb next to me won't be getting what we got.
Just looked up my suburb. We have Brownfields FTTP which I gather means Fibre to the Premise.
Look at some of the speeds I am getting including 46 Mbps at around 4am (I work up and decided to do a test). I suppose these speeds might lessen when more people in my neighbourhood join the NBN?
