‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

I feel like this trailer basically gives away the entire outline of the movie, first second and third act. That's normal nowadays but I was hoping for a little mystery...

Aside from the overly annoying Lex, the flick looks decent. Batfleck is already an infinitely better Batsy than Emobatbale. The Batvoice is much better than the Sgt Slaughter voiceover we got in that last abortion of a trilogy. The movie actually seems... fun. The fx definitely need work though. They look terrible.

Watching this new trailer, I feel like I have already watched the whole movie.

The Bruce Wayne Vs Clark Kent stuff looks fun but if they're going to crowbar other super heroes into it, that might weaken the film. We'll see.

I also think Eisenberg is too lightweight.

I have no problem with WW being in the movie, but I do think this trailer makes her introduction seem far more random and weird than it should be. Apparently she just appears in the middle of the climactic battle and all of a sudden batman and superman stop fighting each other and start helping her fight the monster? Hopefully that's just very poor editing for the trailer and not a reflection of the actual movie. (Presumably she will at least be introduced to the audience before that scene, if not to the other characters...)

And yet, someone else feels:

Just shows how hard it is for film-makers to please everyone with a trailer. Personally, I think that the balance was just right.

That trailer was actually pretty good,

That trailer was goofy as fuck. And why is Batman holding a goddamn gun at the end?

As always, I'll wait till I see the picture before I condemn or praise it, but the trailer doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in me.

 Its the first trailer that showed much more than just Batman and Superman fighting, and it actually showed some personality besides dark and brooding. Outside of Luthor being way too over the top, this trailer did everything it needed to to raise my interest in the movie. It took a few viewings for me to like Man of Steel, but I could see this being a movie I like from first viewing. I suppose it could go either way, but I'm feeling better about this movie then I have about any DC movie since before Batman Begins. I doubt I'll like it as much as any of the Marvel movies, but I can see it still being a good movie, and in fact I'm betting its at least ok, although it will be awhile before I know either way.

We've already seen a clip of Diana in civilian garb meeting Bruce at an event, probably the same soiree where Clark, Bruce, and Lex meet at the start of this trailer. So I imagine we'll meet her as Diana first and then discover over the course of the movie who she really is.

All in all, I am very unimpressed. There's an odd mismatch of tones, as if they're trying to perpetuate the dark aspects of MoS and simultaneously punch it up with humor to compensate for its perceived grimness. And the humor is terrible. Eisenberg is grating and irritating as Lex. That's got nothing to do with any "fanboy" adherence to comics; I've enjoyed a variety of different versions of Lex Luthor, from Hackman's comic-relief version to Michael Bell's Hackman impression in the '88 animated series to Sherman Howard's menacing version from the syndicated Superboy to John Shea's romantic-lead version in Lois & Clark to Clancy Brown's note-perfect business-mogul mastermind in the DCAU to Michael Rosenbaum's nuanced young Lex in Smallville. But this Luthor is shrill, irritating, and unfunny. He's more a sniveling brat than an evil mastermind. Basically, he's Carrot Top. He's worse than the snarky college-kid Lex from the first season of Superboy, before he got retooled into the Sherman Howard version.

The rest doesn't engage me much either. The snarking between Clark and Bruce feels more petty and forced than clever or thoughtful. The Superman-Batman banter later on is rather dull as well. The first trailer, for all its grim solemnity, at least conveyed a sense of thoughtfulness and weight that was interesting, but this one makes the movie look as cheesy and clunky as the first couple of Fantastic Four movies or Green Lantern. Action-wise, it just seemed like another visually cluttered orgy of CGI mass destruction, and I'm totally uninterested in Doomsday as an adversary. The only moment that garnered a "whoa" from me rather than a "meh" was Wonder Woman's entrance.

The other moment I loved was in the credits at the end, seeing Bill Finger's name finally listed as a creator of Batman, as large as all the other creator names. Though it sucks that he still has to take second billing to Bob Kane, who created essentially nothing beyond the character's name.

What's with Ben Affleck's voice?
What's with Jesse Eisenberg's EVERYTHING?
Why does Doomsday look like a Ninja Tutrle?

That was a great trailer, but I was surprised how much it showed.
The Clark/Bruce secene was good.
Lex does seem kind of over the top. I'm not ready to write the character off, but this trailer didn't make a great impression.
I like that they seem to be going with what sounds like a technological voice disguise for Batman, instead of just him making his voice sound different like in a lot of other versions.
I'm pretty shocked we got the big Zod/Doomsday reveal here. It looks like that must be what brings them together.
Loved Wonder Woman's appearance here. I'm curious if we'll get any dialogue from her in any of the promotional stuff? So far all we've gotten from her is a few shots of her looking pretty and badass, and I'm hoping there will be more to her role in the movie than that.

Yeah I remember reading somewhere that Diana spends much of the movie investigating Lex and being this sort of mystery figure behind the scenes, until she finally reveals herself as WW at the end.

Lot of complaints about Doomsday's look, The tone of the trailer and Eisenberg/Lex hamming it up

It's scary how well that manip lines up with Bay's Turtles

^ Yeah, really.

This Lex is pretty sharp, pointing out Clark's strength and being pleased that he's met Bruce. And Bruce has a southern drawl it seems.
