Jesus Christ, it's gonna take me years to finish this game.
I only went about in the local neighborhood, shot up some Feral Ghouls and then started cleaning up Sanctuary and building some stuff for the few people that are already there.
One small nitpick for the PC version.. control layout is a bit wonky. I have to switch so many times between keyboard and mouse that's it's not fun scrapping all the small stuff from a house to make room for beds and such. Might have to adapt the controls if at all possible.
Oh, hell, yeah. I was building up Sanctuary a little bit for the few folk I had there, and then, just today, I started going hog wild trying to actually civilize the place. Tearing down old houses, clearing up the dead trees, non-functioning street lights, and just about everything I didn't think was necessary...and of course, you get the materials back for scrapping such things. I've been trying to organize a "power grid" so to speak. Right now, my Sanctuary is thriving pretty well. I'll help out other settlements if I can get to them, as far as defending them goes, but my focus is Sanctuary Hills.
I have a weapons emporium, too. Trying to save up bottle caps to get a restaurant going as well.
Building up a settlement is sort of a game unto itself.
