Spoilers Supergirl - Season 1

if it's a choice between his dick of a super villain dad (who has already gone 12 rounds with Superman?) or the woman he's hopelessly in love with?

Bad luck Dad.

‘Supergirl’ & ‘NCIS: LA’ Terrorism-Themed Episodes Replaced After Paris Attacks

CBS has opted not to air the episodes of Supergirl and NCIS: Los Angeles originally scheduled for tomorrow, Nov. 17. Other original episodes will air instead. The move was made out of sensitivity to the events in Paris as the world is still reeling from the gruesome terrorist attacks that took the lives of 129 people and left more than 300 injured.

The benched Supergirl episode, “How Does She Do It?,” had Kara dealing with bombings in the fictional National City. In place of that episode will be “Livewire,” a Thanksgiving-themed installment originally slated for November 23.

Hope that doesn't torpedo a larger narrative/arc that will not make much sense with episodes being shown out of order. Though this early in the run there is thankfully not much continuity to be disrupted.

it will be interesting to see how that affects releases on platforms like itunes and google.

Yeah I was kind of expecting that after reading the episode description yesterday.

Of course the good news is we get to see the Livewire episode a week early. And I kinda doubt there will be much of a continuity issue since it's still very much a villain-of-the-week show at the moment, with Kara learning little lessons in every episode (and if she learns one lesson a week earlier than the next, no big deal). And the larger arc involving Aunt Astra probably won't get really started until later in the season.

There's the thing with James and Lucy Lane and the show is still serialized enough that I'll probably wait until I can see this episode before I continue. I'll see.

I think I'll just wait a week and then watch both episodes in row in the correct order.

Assuming they only postpone the episode a week. Do we know that for sure?

I'm tempted to do the same, but at the same time, I'm reluctant to go without my weekly Supergirl fix.

When this happened with Hannibal, the politically graphic bits were cut out, and the plotty bits essential to the story were released online as webisodes.

This is totally letting the terrorists win in a way that the terrorists absolutely do not care about.

Someone went to a lot of trouble to have the Thanksgiving Episode fall on Thanksgiving, or as close as possible.

That's some serious Math, when you consider that they started writing this weeks episode a year ago.

Is Supergirl even airing in France yet?

I will still watch. I prefer to watch episodes in order but I don't want to wait a week either. Besides both Helen Slater and Dean Cain are back in the episode that will now be airing tomorrow.

I a curious what is going to happen with the episode of the Sean Bean series "Legends" scheduled for tomorrow. It involves a terrorist plot in Paris!!!

Its going to be impossible to alter the order of episodes. This 2nd season is much different than the first. Huge improvement. It is not a procedural anymore. It has one overreaching story line for this whole season. The last episode specifically revealed the planned terrorist attack in Paris for this upcoming episode.

I'd be surprised if they aired that episode so soon. Just suck it up, keep watching, and look forward to eventually filling in the gap. We're all bright enough to compensate for any implied story beats that we haven't seen.

Its possible, with the way the relationships move forward in every episode, so if a character suddenly seems to be reacting in one unexpected direction or another, then....

In spite of Variety using the term 'switched', it's rather unlikely that all CBS is doing is postponing How Does She Do It? by a week. What seems far more likely is that the episode will air much later, if it airs at all.

Which would be flushing the episode, the millions of dollars it cost to make down the toilet?

In Canada, Supergirl premiered as a simulcast with the American broadcast,[73] while it premiered three days later on October 29 in the United Kingdom.[74] The series will premiere in Australia on FOX8 on December 6, 2015.[75]

If Canada or/and England 3 days later don't switcharoo episodes, since they would have gotten the "film" weeks ago to brand and segment it properly, there will be torrents made quickly, and therefore two episodes of Supergirl this week.

It's just a question of if Canada and England are going to follow America's suit?

Pushing the bad episode forward one week is weak.

Airing the bad episode as the last episode of the season or somewhere in the middle of season 2 will be a continuity clusterfuck.

Seriously? How bad could it be?

Not airing the show could be the penny that tanks the series.

Kick back from airing the show could also tank the series.

A few months ago, the season finale of Mr. Robot on USA was delayed due to its similarity to the shootings in Virginia, but it was aired the following week. Then again, when Haven postponed the penultimate episode of its third season after the Newtown school shooting, it postponed the last two episodes of the season by nearly a month.

Even if HDSDI doesn't air, it'll still likely be on the inevitable DVD release, and there's a chance that it's made available through online services.
