Spoilers Arrow - Season 4

^Maybe Lance was blindfolded on the way in and out? That's usual lair-escort protocol, unless you happen to have Bat-gas in your utility belt.

yeah, I've been there - gathering the family around the computer or ipad isn't yet on the logistical menu here, though. It'd be nice if our TV or Tivo had an app for that.
You do know that it is possible to connect a computer to the tv? I mean computers that can stream basic or even HD web videos arent that expensive anymore. I dont understand why more people dont just buy some cheap laptop or even bigger computer next to their tv. You can get pretty much game console sized cases for computers so even the size shouldnt be the problem.

Does Oliver have shares? Summer unloaded a lot of stock, but she also tanked the price doing it.

Oliver's personal portfolio may have been nonexistant since when he died his will would have given a lot of stuff away to "people". The Bulk of the "personal" wealth Oliver had before the island, and probably the wealth that had been intended to be willed to oliver upon Moira's death, was probably put into trust for Connor.

Thea made a sad point of not enjoying having to live on Malcolm's dirty money.
Damn, I wrote a long reply and the system had logged me out...

Ollie is legally alive (certainly he needs to be to run for mayor.) He returned while Moira was running the company. She and/or the courts would have restored his assets and he and Thea would have inherited her shares later on. No one would have any reason to challenge Ollie's reacquisition of his assets. It might have been different if there was some unscrupulous family member trying to keep him broke, but that wasn't the situation.

As for Conner, Moira kept him secret, paid off his mum, and there is no indication she kept track of them to the extent of setting up Ollie's assets in trust. The only route to that was if Conner's mother had initiated something, but we know that didn't happen.

When Summer arrived the plot depicted she and Ollie controlling 50% each. That couldn't have been quite true; the company was public, Ray was able to buy in later, there was share dilution involved which means options were exercised so there are other shareholders. Presumably Ray bought out Summer's shares, but in real life there would have been a criminal investigation into her affairs.

If it was just that Summer issued herself enough options to take control the courts would have struck that down eventually. For the sake of plot, the idea was to remove Ollie's income for as long as it took to kill him. It didn't need to be something that stood up to scrutiny long term.

In real life Ollie and Thea should still control the company since Summer achieved all this through fraud and malicious intent. The company is publicly traded (which is how Ray took control) so Ollie and Thea would have the same protections as any shareholder and the laws are strict about the CEO's (Summer) duty of care. That said, the needs of the plot prevail and Ollie and Thea are as rich or poor as the writer's need them to be.

At the moment the two of them should control something like 40% of the company (someone above said 45% and that is not out of line). Felicity, through Ray, should control more, that's how he took control. There should be public shares outstanding, although there may have been a buyback at some point. Presumably Felicity/Ray have more shares than Ollie/Thea, neither with over 50% but Ray was able to get enough proxy votes to take control of the board and change the name of the company. (That was the point of his spectacular presentation when he first arrived on the scene. He needed to convince everyone he had vision.)

With layoffs, the company is obviously not making much profit. Ollie is not broke but may not have all that much income. If I were his accountant I could certainly make sure he was comfortable and could afford all the arrows he needed. Felicity is not receiving much in the way of dividends, but she is receiving a considerable salary as CEO and their expenses for the Arrowcave, etc. would be funneled through the company through creative bookkeeping, as per the needs of the plot.

Speaking of wearing things, has Diggle's headgear suddenly changed from a full helmet to a strap-on mask? Or was it always like that?

I thought so to, but in the next scene it was back to a helmet. i suspect it was a badly disguised stunt issue.

No, it was a half-helmet strapped on in back throughout the scene. It's just that it looked like a full helmet from the front. I imagine maybe David Ramsey found the full helmet too restrictive so they redesigned it.

Thank you. That was bugging me every time I saw it.

I always watch everything I watch on the computer through my TV. All it takes for me is to connect my laptop to my TV with a HDMI cable. If you have an ancient TV without an HDMI input I think there is also a way to do it with video audio in/out cables.

I really enjoyed this one. I'm really happy they had the big reveal and confrontation about Lance working with Darhk. I wasn't expecting to see that until the end. That was a hell of a scene between Lance and Olliver. I didn't really have a problem with them showing Lance the new hideout. At this point he already knows all about them, so there wouldn't be much point in continuing to hide things from him if they are going to be working with him.
I just hope they have some really good security programs to keep random campaign people from wandering down there.
It's a really cool looking set. I love how they keep using STAR Labs as an excuse for them to keep getting cool high tech stuff.
Same thing goes for Laurel showing him Sarah. I was a little surprised that Laurel took Sarah back to Star City, I would have thought it would have been a better idea to leave her with the League since they're the ones who know all about the Lazarus Pit.
I'm a big fan of True Blood, so I really enjoyed seeing Rutina Wesley, although I was surprised she was a villain.

Particularly since she was based on an obscure DC heroine, the laughably named Lady Cop. (Who wasn't even the only female police officer in her short-lived '70s comic, making the name even more odd.)

I thought of Lady Cop as I was watching. Didn't realize that it was supposed to be her.

She's alive! She's alive!
"WEIRD SCIENCE!"

Anyway, about the episode... At first I was wondering, "Why doesn't Laurel run for mayor? She's the one who's actually a member of city government, as a DA." But then I saw her choosing to be honest with her dad by just springing the surprise of his chained-up, feral, resurrected zombie daughter on him with no advance warning, and I remembered... Laurel can always be counted on to make the worst possible decisions about anything. So maybe she's not a great choice for mayor. (Although she's overqualified to be a Republican presidential candidate.)
:rommie: Great points!

So... once they get Sara back and running, that's the perfect excuse to off Laurel, right? Keeping the balance and all. Also, Ollie said "I'm gonna kill him" in the flash-forward, and Captain Lance made a point of reminding the audience that Darkh has threatened to kill Laurel if Lance betrays him... which he's now doing by teaming up with Ollie to take him down.

It's gotta be Laurel in that grave, then. Right?! :bolian:

Sara's gonna be on the second Arrowverse spinoff so nope.

It's gonna be Captain Lance in the grave.

Right, so Laurel should bite it to even out the Lance family count.

I don't buy that Ollie'd shed a tear over Captain Lance's grave even after a funeral. That would be a pretty lame cheat on the producers' part.

I dunno, I think Diggle has served his purpose. Time to thin the herd of Team Arrow a little.
Exactly, and Laurel is part of Team Arrow. :techman:

If it were Laurel, then Sara would be using the Black Canary I.D. on Legends of Tomorrow, but she's going to be White Canary on that show. Which indicates that Black Canary is still in use on Arrow.

And then after Laurel dies, Sarah renames herself the black and white canary because she finally understands that the only reasons she has left for living is black and white cookies.

She's attracted to women; she's got millions of reasons to live in the US alone.

And if she takes the moniker White Canary while Laurel is alive, I could totally see her not changing hers to Black Canary out of respect.

We'll see...

Wow, 3 whole days ahead of time! Amaazing! We are so thrilled for you.

In other news:

Cough.

Cough.
I am not eating dinner right now.

Nope. Of course not.

Was it just me, or when John is casting the spell it looks like Dresden on his left is giving this look of "this is bullshit"?
