It would be ironic if the X-Men cast member that Tom Hardy replaced were Hugh Jackman instead of Patrick Stewart.

Indeed. And let's not forget that at one time the role of Wolverine was offered to Mel Gibson - the original Mad Max.

In fairness, he just mumbled so much through Fury Road, it was impossible to tell what accent he was meant to have.

Generally though, I tend to find that his voice is my favourite voice of any of his performances - Bronson's circus strongman tones, Bane's bizarre hybrid, the OTT Jewish London accent from Peaky Blinders. Wonder what his Canadian accent would be like?

Kind of underwhelming, I'm still not sure about Apocalypse or his voice.
McAvoy looks better bald now that I see him.

But I'm a fan of the previous two films so I still have hope for this one.

More to the point, he sounds like him. McAvoy seems to be doing a fairly good Patrick Stewart impression throughout this trailer, very different from his previous performances as Xavier. I guess this is where he makes the transition from the dissolute young Charles to the dignified Professor X.

And of course they've given Lawrence's Mystique a central heroic role.

Apocalypse's design still doesn't look very good to me, but besides that the trailer was very solid. I've liked all the previous stuff, so I'm sure I'll really enjoy this movie, too.

Looks good. The character Apocalypse doesn't seem like the disaster a lot of people were expecting after the first picture came out. I still don't love the design, but it does look like Oscar Isaac's performance should be able to make up for it.

Not so impressed with the trailer and less so with Apocalypse. I still think it will turn out to be a fine film though.
