Series 9 - Coming September 19! (And a trailer!)

Some thoughts after reading over that:

-So, based on that synopsis, the Zygon story with Osgood does indeed take place after Death in Heaven. I feel vindicated.

-Rigsy seems to have moved from Bristol to London. No, I have nothing further to add, just felt it was worth commenting on.

-The description of episode 12 just feels like a retread of the themes touched on in Dark Water/Death in Heaven.

Or, "Name of the Doctor." Or, "The Wedding of River Song."

I actually thought "Death in Heaven" was Moffat's attempt to do something different with his season finales.

I didn't know where to put this but....

Malcolm tucker and the Department of Social Affairs and Citizenship get saved by Spider-man in an upcoming issue of "Amazing Spider-man"

I wasn't going to read those but I couldn't help myself. Hope the final delivery is as good as the hype cuz it sounds pretty good.

Well, I wrote my post based on my reaction to reading the first sentence of that blurb:

If you took everything from him, and betrayed him, and trapped him, and broke both his hearts...

Which immediately made me think of the scene with Clara tossing the TARDIS keys into the volcano.

Good point. :)

Paul Cornell references that scene in Four Doctors #3 in an interesting way, as it hasn't happened yet for the Doctor and Clara.

Does anyone no if there is going to be an Doctor Who Extra or red button behind the scenes show this year?

Just checked the EPG, and not at the weekend, as it's taken up with Formula 1 and the Battle of Britain memorial flight.
Maybe later in the week, possibly after the BBC3 repeat on Friday.

Has the idea of the Doctor being inside the Matrix cross anyone's mind for at least part of the season? One shot from the BBC America trailer reminds me of a time with the Sixth Doctor in the Matrix.

Someone's leaked "The Doctor's Meditation" from the cinema screenings

I guess it's okay. I'm not sure that the comedy bits really work with Capaldi; he doesn't feel natural delivering the joke lines.

Hm, I smell another Death of the Doctor story arc in work here...

Moffat's bag of tricks is limited, and he recycles from himself.

Most writers do...

I just looked up The Doctor's Meditation. What the hell was he wearing!?

Peter Capaldi's choice of clothes. The sunglasses and the guitar are his ideas too.

There had been rumours that in order to keep him happy he's been given far more control over things than previous actors in the role, which I'm not inclined to dismiss out of hand.
