joyless, soulless
Yep.
This is why it is the worst "Trek" ever.
All the other bad trek has charms. Ironic charms at times, but charms.
TATV has nothing.
joyless, soulless
Yeah, you can laugh at Threshold. Watch it high on acid or something. Spock's Brain too.
TATV, though... The most joyless, soulless hour of television I can think of.
"Pegasus" was one of the few episodes of TNG's final season I actually like. Why couldn't they have set it during "Sub Rosa" instead? I mean, it's not like you could taint that one.
Have they? It was hardly noticeable.Frakes and Sirtis had clearly aged

I didn't understand why it was set during TNG at all. Why couldn't it have been set on the Enterprise-E if it really had to take place in the 24th century? Frakes and Sirtis had clearly aged and the narrative of this episode didn't fit with The Pegasus episode either.
The most ironic thing about TATV is that it had been described as a 'special valentine' to all the fans. To me it was like getting a great box of chocolates and finding out it was filled with turds instead.
However, it was also widely discussed in the docs that a fourth season at all was an uncertainty. Given that, Manny Coto should have had SOMETHING of substance in his back pocket just in case he needed to close up the series quickly.
The biggest problem, I believe, was that Rick Berman and Brannon Braga at that point in time didn't even care about Enterprise any more. TATV was their "goodbye" to the entire franchise. How could they miss the mark so completely?! Who the hell thought that premise would make a good finale?
